Bart Scott positively referenced this group on JETS Post Game live & I agree w/him (for once). I don't know how often AZ Thomas was covering Tee Higgins, but his only catch was the 44yrd TD. Chase was held under 100yrds receiving after 161yrs the week before vs the Steelers who have a much better pass rush. Cincinnati just ran the ball down our throat & stuck to the run. We all thought this was throwing the rookies into the fire right away but I thought 2 rookies & a 2nd year player in Moore, Brownlee & AZ Thomas did very well. Would love to see gradual improvement from this young trio. Playing under cheap rookie contracts for the next 2-3yrs. The new regime looks to be finally phasing out guys like Adams & Oliver.
I wasn’t old enough for that one but I was at the Ravens/Jets games where they rammed the ball down the Ravens throats for an entire half and then try a halfback pass with LaMont Jordan inside the 5 yard line. Ed Reed picks it off and almost takes it to the house. I believe they lost the game in overtime.
Lots of folks on Twitter pointing out some direct rips of the Ben Johnson playbook from Tanner in this one. Specifically the 4th down play to Ruckert and the Hall TD pass. That’s a great thing. I feel pretty good about Engstrand, albeit far from perfect. When Fields is actually throwing well and the box isnt consistently stacked you can see what this offense is. It’ll work great vs bad defenses like the Bengals and with a good QB it’ll work against better defenses too.
That ball was not picked off, it was incorrectly ruled as picked off, but that's neither here nor there I looked at this play, Taylor was wide open when he pump faked. That was a great play design that should have worked cleanly, but for some reason Hall pulled back, but then later decided to throw anyway when a defender caught up and it became much harder. Miraculously or worked out, but I will say reluctantly Breece should not be named the QB starer for next game.
Yes! I noticed that Taylor was all by himself at the beginning of the play, and Hall seemingly got the yips.
Right….I don’t want us to make the same mistake we made when we scapegoated MLF because Zach can’t run an offense…we should have been smarter than that…you’d think when we literally had ANYONE not named Zach in there, the offense ran better. That alone should have tipped off our “brain trust” We’ll see…I’d replace Fields way before replacing Tanner…
You know, I completely forgot all about that! I also thought it was in the final minute, but I just looked it up and it was much earlier in the fourth quarter than I thought. It's funny how the mind and memory play tricks on you.
I read somewhere Chris Johnson gave Aaron Glenn the game ball afterwards for the win. Interesting. No way that sniveling, coward Woody can show up in the Jets locker room after the week he had dumping on the team, huh? What an ass hat.

If you believe that Fields has turned the corner and will be our future franchise QB, then this is a great victory. Say I am crazy, but as I recall the last time we won a meaningless game to screw up draft position the end result was Zach Wilson.
