Extra (dead) CAP charge would be there regardless. That charge was because JD manipulated CAP to pay him more in the past than his CAP charge was at the time. There is no getting away from that. It's rather standard practice though. What I am more concerned is our kicking situation though. The guys we have don't seem to be good. Now, Greg is even worse and should have definitely been cut, but I do want to see some good prospects trying out for a job. The punter prospects we have have seem to have had at least decent College careers, but the kickers appear to be total shit.
idk much about these kickers. Kai Kroeger the punter from South Carolina I do know about. A couple years ago he was like the best college punter I’ve seen, he took a couple steps back after their special teams coach left but still has a good leg
Looks like the kicking situation played out very predictably as the kickers we had sucked and the miracle did not happen. Hence we ended up signing Nick Folk. The guy is turning 41 in Nov, and can fall off a cliff any moment. Not unlike Greg really. Hopefully Mooge will not be a total dumbass like JD and if he does suck in camp/preseason he will find someone else. With that said, the guy has been an absolute beast last two years. Last season hit 21 FG of 22, and hit all 25 XPs. Season before 29 of 30 FG and 28 of 30 XP. These are amazing numbers. Just have to carefully monitor how he kicks now and not be afraid to cut him if someone outperforms him like JD was with Greg.
