Fields is actually a tough kid compared to most these days. I remember he got absolutely rocked in the college football playoff, it woulda knocked most QBs out but he stayed in and played through it
Yeah it was more of a comment about the times than anything. Lombardi would have had him running sprints out of spite.
Amazing how that's a issue today when sports medicine in general is a quantum leap over the Parcells era. Players are so much more fragile even with the superhuman physical training regimes and 21st century medical treatments.
Yeah, my first thought too. ESPN had a headline calling it a “toe scare.” Heh. Downside to Justin Fields - he’s good for one or two of these injuries almost every year. The upside - he’s never been a pussy about it.
The time to trash Fields was in the offseason. Training Camp is here so he's "My Quarterback" right now. There are a LOT of players, I feel, that would be on a stationary bike, in the end zone. CHARACTER wins football games! This helps give me an insight to the character of this kid. I don't care how he got here or the journey he took. He's the starting QB for the NY Jets and, until otherwise proven different, I am pulling for him to do well. Hell, I'd much rather have a guy where the "light has come on" vs. a drafted kid, even Arch Manning, who we have no idea how they will actually play in the league.
He kinda did though. You cited Fields' injury as the reason you no longer give a shit about this team. He has a dislocated small toe, and missed a day of practice and is already back. This is not a rational reaction, you have to admit.
Life of a Jet fan. Some overreact all to hell on fake news and then instead of accepting the error make more excuses.
