Meta need to seriously look into the bullpen and make some trades. No way we can do this all year. Yes the bats will heat up but can rely on them being streaky

What happened to McNeil? He left a small village on base yesterday. It's hard to believe he won a batting title.

This team loses too many games it shouldn't. It's hard to believe that they can continue to do that and stay where they are in the standings.

Bases loaded none out, three straight strikeouts. 0 for 8 with runners in scoring position. Against the worst team in baseball. Awful.

Nice, Peterson with a CG SO. That's rare these days.

Based on history, have to wonder if Senga will now be out for three or four months. He is definitely not a quick healer.

He apparently immediately told Alonso that he felt it grab before the bad throw, not reaching for it, but I have to say that that seems unlikely from how it looked. Either way, that's a nice thing to do for a teammate.

Yeah, it did look he tweaked it reaching for the ball... but still, this dude needs to do yoga in the offseason or something...

Great Blackburn is replacing Senga in the rotation.

Senga diagnosed with a Grade 1 strain, the best news that could be expected. Still, it would probably be a month for any pitcher to be ready to return, so with him, two months seems more likely. See you in August, Kodai!

Meanwhile, Baty continues to show that he is not a major league hitter, Alvarez has gone from being a poor hitter who hits home runs to just a poor hitter, Acuna is an asset in the field and on the bases paths but is a terrible hitter (a .283 slugging percentage and .571 OPS!), and we really don't know what Vientos will be like when he gets back. It's been great so far, but I still have my doubts about this team being good enough to make a long run.

Note sure they've had a worse string of three games in a year.

Well, they didn't get blown out, but they did blow a three-run lead in the eighth inning. And Alvarez is a truly pathetic defensive catcher - he has absolutely no idea how to play the position.

Blackburn V. Sale tonight. The bats and bullpen better be up to the task.

This team is awful. Same ol' shit, different series. Pitchers constantly on IR, and not enough depth in the bullpen. They beat up on garbage teams and now they are getting obliterated by mediocre teams. No surprise at all. They aren't that good.

I think the Mets have been more than patient with Alvarez. At this point it might be best to send him down.
