Not sure what's going on with him, but it appears he's on his way out of JetLand. To some folks, this is a good thing that's long overdue. Silence about this guy all during the OTA's. If anybody can find some info on Mr. Penalty, please feel free to post it. IMO, he should have been gone last year but was a Saleh/Ulbrich holdover/cya roster spot.
I feel pretty confident he's not gonna get a scholarship if he's not playing well nor smart as was the case last year. If we see more of the rookie year version, sure. But if it's the more recent version, no chance he makes it
It’s a shame. Clemons had some dominant spurts in college and I was pretty excited about the pick. He fell into the clown show that was allowed in our locker room. Bringing a baseball bat with nails in it shirtless to practice and committing roughing the passer penalties left and right isn’t a good mix to make a culture changing locker room.
Unless he changes his attitude and shows that, he is gone. Msitake waiting to happen and that is not the kind of player AG wants.
I think he needs to be gone. He hasn't produced anything for us and all he penalties for bone headed plays that stopped our momentum on drives. He has no discipline and right now Taylor could get those minutes that he wasted. I even said why isn't Smart playing more last year where they kept getting rid of him and bringing him him back.
With McDonald putting on muscle mass this year and JJ coming back, I don't think Clemons will be seeing all that much action. I guess you never know.
My guess JJ starting the year on PUP list, so Clemons might be a necessary holdover, even as we all moan and cringe.
Not to advocate for Clemons but he was drafted as a run defender who can set the edge his rookie year. Was decent there…then bulked up and was awful in the middle his sophomore year. Then lost the weight and asked to be a guy to come off the edge again last year where he was bad. I’m hoping this staff can put him in better positions to succeed but it’s rough…I don’t think he’s agile enough to be effective off the edge nor big enough to be next to Q.
