Eagles and Steelers always seem to have tough defenders fall in their lap for great value in the draft, and the discipline to stick to board and take them.
Is there any chance we take Shedeur in round 2? Reading up a bit on what happened in round 1. Wow Giants traded back into round 1 to get Dart? Jets took the OT many mock drafts and radio guys had them taking. Dolphins got a DT, Pats OT, Bills a safety.
I like Higgins in the second, but wouldn’t be upset with one of the TEs. Absolutely will need to take a WR in the third if you take TE in second, whereas some decent TEs might make it to the 4th round.
Trade up with Tenessee? They took their QB in round 1. Must be getting calls about their pick in round 2. Giants got their QB. We need a QB too.
I don’t really get it myself. Dart struggles with anticipation and footwork. That’s Zach Wilson stuff Unless the Steelers really like Milroe tomorrow I have to wonder what they are doing too.
Yeah I don’t know enough about Dart but it feels like there are plenty of questions there, and probably more of a 2nd round guy. Also, the Steelers, in such a bind for a QB as they have nothing on their roster, passed on both Dart and Sanders. And they are a pretty smart team. Interesting. Don’t know what to think about Sanders…I think we need help at WR, TE, DT that I’d say go that way, give Fields a shot this year, and get the QB from a better class next year if Fields doesn’t get it. But who knows…watch Sanders ball out and we’d kick ourselves again.
I think you are right. If Higgins is there at 42 I think he may be the pick. The Jets could grab a TE in the third or even fourth round.
Browns might take him with 33. They also have Jacksonvilles pick now at 36. If they come out of this draft with Mason Graham, Shadeur Sanders, another top player in Round 2, AND a bonus 1st rounder next year… That’s amazing drafting
Jets have to get aggressive. Stop waiting on someone to fall into their lap. Make it happen. Tenessee isn't taking another QB to start round 2 so they'll take calls for that pick no doubt about it. I'd trade away the third rounder to trade up to get my QB of the future. Is that what it'll cost? Small price to pay IMO to get a QB I think.
I hate to say it, but I love the Giants draft again so far. They got the best defensive player in the draft and I think Dart is one of the only two QBs in this draft that will pan out (McCord being the other).
They had #3 overall pick, sure they will get the best defensive player. Dart cost them their high second round pick plus two 3d round picks. Time will tell if he is worth it, but this not some slam dunk move if you ask me.
I disagree I mean Carter is good for sure but all it does is help the next coach and GM the Dart trade up was a desperate attempt of this failing regime to keep their jobs and buy some patience. That QB room with Dart, Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston is a circus
Was right on Membou. Knew we’d get him after the search firm that hired Glenn for us mocked him to us in their mock draft. Following the visits now online, again, live for this stuff. Think we’re going Mason Taylor Rd 2 Mike Williams WR or Kyle McCord Rd 3 based on how QB falls.
You are certainly correct - it appears that some nobody with a fantasy sports website created this SPORQ rating only last year - no wonder the sports world has had to do without such cogent insight for so long. After all the guy is a Rutgers grad with a degree in political science and philosophy; ten years ago he was peddling air compressors and now he's the CEO of his own website! Hallelujah! He even made up his own rating system and named it after a plastic hybrid eating utensil! I'd feel a little better about spending two minutes looking at it if he included his Pop Warner football experience or showed even a low passing grade in Statistics 101. In the ten minutes I wasted looking at the who, what and why of Scott Barrett's SPORQ I saw no recap whatsoever of how well his "proprietary system" did in predicting anything about the draft last year or actual NFL performance for a single player. Perhaps I missed it, but where did you find anything indicating trends or consistency?
You missed it because in the 10 mins you spent on the website you looked for ways to undermine it and trash it. The trends for sporq would have been in Ryan Heath’s articles on the combine. The trends for analytics would’ve been in Scott’s rankings. Not everyone is into analytics, that’s fine. They’re not always right, but they can be predictive in a sport that’s very unpredictable. I will not be engaging anymore with you on this. You clearly don’t have any intention on caring about it. Good luck with luck
If I didn't care about it, I wouldn't have wasted my time; I was hoping to see some relevancy and some qualifications - you know, a reason to pay attention. If you think it's worth poring over, fine but you linked to it as if there was intrinsic value there for the rest of us. So, how did Barrett's SPORQ rating do last year? And how do you get trends and consistency in a one year span? How's he doing now after 32 picks are in?
He’s not a serious poster that’s here to discuss the Jets or draft or anything like that. He’s just here to badger your points. Don’t waste your time.
