It's really easy. They are not going for media approval, they are not boasting as they go, they have been looking at the right aspects of a football team and that could/should lead to a shift in what we've been used to since Parcells.. Yes, the obvious mentorship has shown through in this way to me already, In many ways. I can already see a shift in culture, just by the way they are operating things during the offseason.

The fact that AG put such a high emphasis on building this coaching staff. Knowing what they want to achieve in terms of talent and plan. The big thing though. Is adaptation. I constantly hear them talking about talent over scheme. Over and over. Tell me that's not a breath of fresh air at the very least?

Neither of those guys you mentioned had the right makeup or experience to handle being a HC. You can already tell through AG's demeanor, he is no nonsense. He doesn't care what you think, he truly cares about winning, and he truly believes in himself. This coaching staff, and this process.

The coaches prior have been fools gold at best. I liked Saleh but I wasn't optimistic that he would be the guy.

I just feel so much different with AG. I don't usually go this direction, or allow myself to be this forward with things like this unless I truly feel it.

    I do.

I'm just getting ahead of game when the turn around comes so I can gloat later. haha

I genuinely think, this is going to be what we've been hoping for.

None of those guys are in the same ballpark. The closest to it was Rex. He shifted a culture, he got a lot out of those teams. He just didn't have the goods to get us to the house. I'm rooting for this regime and I believe in this one. Finally. It's been a long time since I felt this confident with this team.

For what it's worth. I would consider myself more of a darksider in terms of confidence of this team over the years. I am all sunshine and rainbows right meow!

I do like the lack of promises made by the new coach.

He has a mountain to move.

    Is it 50/50, 40/60 ?

I am worried about the players...

I'm just glad the Jets are NOT ON THE BACK PAGE this offseason. No drama as Rodgers took his show to PIttsburgh and is in the process of putting that once proud franchise thru the waiting game.

    Title: "We Begin, Again"

It's so damn easy to denounce this team and the jokes are plenty. I won't do it in this thread. So, we begin again. I wasn't choosing Aaron Glenn as my HC preference and never heard of Mougey before recently. The more I heard from Glenn, I like him a lot. Certainly did as a player. I think he has the proper moxie. We can hate on the owner forever or just stop talking about him. He ain't giving up this capitalists' wet dream that is owning an NFL franchise. Glenn and staff has to be better than what we just had with Saleh whether Saleh's staff choices were his own or not. Mougey is the great unknown. I would have preferred a chiseled veteran there, but who knows? We begin again.

As most of us are die hard Jets fans, let's be honest........there is no hope.

I see AR is spewing a little venom about how he was informed of his release in the Pat and Aaron show He didn’t like that he actually took a private flight to go to Jersey while they could have called him instead for a 15 minute meeting. He was immediately told they were going in another direction. AG told him point blank he him didn’t want his players to look back at him and second guess his direction. Seems to me there must have been plenty of that crap with the prior regime.

Silly stuff. I saw every game at Shea in 1968-69. Never take the media seriously. Go Jets! My nephew just named his new son Preston Jet _____. His other uncle played for the team in the Super Bowl. Good times coming.

    Facts.

But I like Glenn so far. He was decisive in dealing with Aaron whether you agree with the decision or not.

Imagine moaning about having to travel to your own workplace, on your own dime... just like the rest of us, buddy. Suck it up.

Edit: This is directed at Rodgers btw, not LA Jet.:)

Right now if I had to compare Aaron Glenn to any former coach, it’d be Mike Singletary. They seem to have the same temperament. Hopefully Glenn knows how to control his when the real pressure is on. We had alot of “can’t coach em, can’t win with em” type players last year, some of whom are still on the team.

Yeah, right? He chooses to live on the west coast because he can afford it, just like he can afford the private jet to make the trip. I get the frustration of spending the time and money to travel cross country for a meeting that lasted less than half an hour, I do. He’s right, they could have just had a phone call to say we’re going in a different direction.

But we also don’t know both sides of the story. Did the Jets ask him to come in person, or was that his initiative?

A phone call would’ve sufficed if our mind was made up. I don’t think it was. I think AG wanted to look Rodgers in the eyes when he asked him if he still wanted to play. The answer Glenn was looking for was “fuck yeah I wanna play, let’s fuckin gooooo!!”. Instead he got “yeah I’m interested”.

If he actually flew on a private jet that he paid for, that's his choice. His choice, his money - why should anybody give a crap?
