I don’t know where you got that info but it’s just wrong. The dropoff from Warren to Fanin/Arroyo/Mason Taylor is steep. The dropoff from Membou to Ersery/Mbow/Millum is not. Every one of those 3 guys can start at RT day one. Warren can start at TE day one. Fanin/Arroyo/Mason Taylor will need development before they truly make an impact as none of them are good blockers at all. Warren has all their pass catching talent, can run a wildcat, and blocks well enough to ve an every down player.
Well, we will know what our leadership thinks for sure in five days. It will be interesting to see if both Membou and Warren are off the board with the seventh pick where we go.
Running the wild cat is not a trait worth listing. Warren’s “versatility” is relatively useless in the grand scheme of the NFL as it relates to be a factor to drafting him. You’re not lining him up as a wide receiver. I don’t really care if he can fake a hand off and run for 3 yards up the gut. Tebow on the Jets did the same thing..
Cleveland only has one 1st rounder right now, they do have the 1st pick in the 2nd, but only 1 in the 2nd, so that would be the #7 for #33, #67 and a #1 and #4 in 2026. They would certainly need to add to that to make it worth dropping completely out of the 1st.
At TE there is a clear 2 at the top, Warren and Loveland. Loveland could be an option if we trade down. Everyone else did not grade out well at the combine, and the odds are against them. Even Fanin, who is supposed to be an athletic freak
Kudos to one thing this year- I don’t think anyone has a remote clue what the Jets are actually going to do in this draft, and I think that’s a good thing.
Agreed, while one can make an argument Loveland is close to Warren and younger, Loveland will be gone in the 1st round too, probably top 15-20. Others are not even close. Also, I am beginning to think as @LAJet suggested, Pats could really prefer Membou to Campbell. I actually think this choice is pretty clear as Campbell appears to be a bit overrated with historically short arms for an OT and Membou actually played like a beast last season and has good measurements. I know I would take Membou in their place. He is also a possibility for the Raiders. We might end up with the choice of Warren and Campbell/Banks at 7. I would go Warren in this scenario.
What about this scenario, gang, who do you take: 1. Ward 2. Hunter 3. Carter 4. Membou 5. Graham 6. Warren This is probably the worst one. I am thinking Banks in this case, though I do hope one of Warren/Membou/Graham will be there.
If the board falls that way, with both the stud RB and Sanders on the board, sprint to a trade down and still get a damned good RT or TE.
If it falls that way, “Hello Steelers, come on up at seven for Sanders and we thank you for the added picks.”
There might be clues though. You can follow who they are visiting with here. Based on who they are meeting with I think if they stay at 7 the pick will be between Tyler Warren TE, Mason Graham DL, Shemar Stewart EDGE. But the visit list is heavy on late 1st, early 2nds/3rds. So it indicates to me a desire to trade down. At this point I'd be surprised if Jalen Milroe isn't a Jet by this weekend btw based on the meeting reports.
LOL, yeah for sure. But say we cannot trade down and Jax takes Warren as Coen might want a weapon and then Raiders Graham: 1. Ward 2. Hunter 3. Carter 4. Membou 5. Warren 6. Graham Whom do you actually select at 7 in this scenario?
Well is either Campbell if they think he can play RT with no issues, and arm length is over come by his vice grip hands or Loveland at that point.
Golden is going to be a solid NFL wide receiver. Terry McLaurin type. I don’t understand why the Jets aren’t linked to him
if there is a desparado trade offer to grab Sanders I'd take that but if not I might be tempted to take the generational RB, not many of us wanted Barkley and boy what a huge miss that has proven to be.
I don't think Loveland gets past his old coach who is now with the Chargers. Harbaugh loves "his" guys. The Pats may take Membou. Campbell is a guard or a center at this level. Even if he bucks the trend you're not taking that risk at 4. Personally if I'm the Pats I'm taking Tet to give Maye some help but unless it's s a smoke screen it doesn't look that way. And finally, Jeanty is going to the Raiders right? Like that just screams a Raiders top 10 pick.
