The "hate" stuff is lame. It's an undoubtedly bad room. If you want people who have lived through the last 10 years of the same shit over and over to all of a sudden by into the exact same shit, I dunno what to tell you. The WR and TE rooms are undoubtedly bad, among the worst in the league. Bringing it up as an issue is valid.

This is also getting lame. Barring a trade, what are we adding to this room that will take it from abysmal to even average? If we draft Tet or Warren half the fanbase is going to meltdown. And adding rookies to this room again doesn't make it even average.

And the real kicker is I don't even care. If we punt this season I don't care. But the messaging was "win now" and then we brought in a QB we're hoping to make our own Darnold (ugh) or Mayfield with almost no talent for him to prove himself with. It's a hell of a lot of faith to put in yourself and your staff, most of which are doing their jobs for the first time.

You are lying then cause if you don't care if they tank in 2025 then why are you bitching every day about who is going to play TE or be the 4th DT, etc....

Well we’re all fans, many of us for a LONG time, so while I don’t think we should be all automatically hating on everything, I also don’t think that’s any worse than being all “pie in the sky” optimistic either.

This team has given us very few things to get happy about. We’ve seen WAY more bad than good from this team for over 20 years…and honestly going back to SB III.

So when some fans are looking at us hiring a rookie GM and yet another rookie defensive HC, yeah, we’ve seen this shit show before. The Glenn connection is a nice story and I loved watching him play for us, but the odds are not great that hey, maybe THIS time, we’ll finally hire the right guy. Not saying it’s not possible that he succeeds where just about every other rookie DC we’ve hired has failed, but the odds that he’ll figure out a way with a rookie OC whose never done it either are not super great. This is the same exact template we just watched implode when we hired the latest DC flavor of the year in Saleh…and not for nothing, but JD had a better resume than Mouge does when he was hired. Clearly that didn’t matter, but again, Woody just keeps doing the same shit over and over and over.

And as far as the product on the field, hard to see how we are a better team today than we were last year…granted we’re not playing a game today so there is time and a whole draft to get better, but we have a lot of holes. WR room sucks outside of GW. TE room sucks. OL still has holes but hoping we draft a RT high. DL has holes…there is no guarantee that JJ will come back strong from a torn Achilles in a position that relies on burst…if he can’t make it back 100% this year (which is likely), we’re looking at McD and Clemons again. And all of that is not even considering that our QB is a failed draft pick that hasn’t put it together yet on multiple teams…I know some are high on him, but outside of his running game, he is just not a very good QB. And we’re expecting a rookie DC at the HC spot and a rookie OC to develop him? Didn’t we just see this movie a few years ago? Chances are low.

So I get that the floor is low…shit, we only won 5 games so how much worse can it get? But at least for me, while I am hopeful and will root for AG to succeed, I’m also enough of a realist to know that I’m getting older, and here we are starting a rebuild yet again. Using the same playbook that failed multiple times before.

Not a great outlook…to me that’s not “hating”…it’s just calling it what it is…

I just told you within the post you quoted why I'm annoyed at the lack of any attempt to make the team better.

Ehh. For 2025 I'd rather have Mike Williams on that NE offense and assuming their OC isn't going to use him like Hackett did.

I wouldn't mind seeing us bring in a vet WR of a 1 year low commitment deal, but I'd be out on Diggs for us. Too many red flags with the age and "is he even gonna be healthy?" question marks, and just don't like the general idea of putting him in a locker room that is going lose more games then it wins.

He's a big "name" at the cliff and with a foot off the edge already. Big pass.

Lockett would be great. Cooper too but he can barely stay on the field and disappeared with the Bills in the postseason.

Yes, bringing it up is valid but every day and 6 months before the final squad will be filled?

You don't think it is a bit much for people to read that stuff every day?

If it isn't hate on Fields I'm not sure what it is, lame is a word for your posts on him though.

ps just the last 10 years?

I’m not crying in my beer over Diggs if we miss out on him. But I do believe he has bounce back potential because his game relies on technique and not pure athleticism.

I also think the cancer attribution may be overblown and admire his dedication in some ways

Those are the 2 that look the best on paper and which i'd generally want the most, no doubt.

I have my doubts either would end up choosing to go to us or to NE though. At least at the general ballpark price I'd want them, and which doesn't include any further down the road commitment beyond this year. There is still a bunch of winning teams and opportunities that will be out there that those types are more likely to gravitate too.

Maybe NE overspends that though since they seem to be having a lot of problem finding good players that want to take their massive cap room money atm. But that isn't good football building for them imo. To me they need to just suck it up, check the dream draft grade hope at the door, and just take whoever they believe is the best WR in 1st after Hunter goes off the board for them. Maybe you get cute with a trade down there, but yeah. None of this "we'll just hit on a sleeper value #1 guy in the 2nd" stuff they clearly aren't good at finding.

Cooper is done. Spent. Adios, he should look for a new career

    Lockett has some intrigue though

Yea, this too. No one in their right mind is signing here unless they have no other offers. We offer close to nothing for someone at the end of their career that can still contribute.

I mean he's 32 and coming off a mid season acl tear. Like what are the actual odds he is even 100% healthy for 2025, and much less doesn't lose a step in process? To me that seems more name chasing and wishcast driven. Like all last winter when people were downplaying that with the Mike Williams signing. I also think it's huge red flag that Houston seemingly had pretty much zero actual interest in bringing him back, and especially when they could of used the void year contract stuff in an extension instead of just deciding to eat the full hit.

Maybe the cancer stuff was overblown, maybe not. But that stuff is popping on teams that basically get to spend all year knowing they'll be making the playoffs coming out of a division that they have on lockdown. I would need to like him and the upside possibility more then I do to want to see what that might look like *here*.

Conklin signs 1 yr deal with Chargers.

I liked him. Terrible YAC, but had great hands for us.
