Super bowl bound! Our defensive coordinator coach will surely save his career. He will turn the pumpkin into Cinderalla
I remember I wanted him after his game against Clemson and the season he had then the Zach Wilson hype took off. I am hopeful that some years of the grind and ongoing work will take him and Garrett Wilson to the next level. In many ways, Fields should have been a Jet if we traded down
No, we don't. Which plays actually into the reason why we *SHOULDN'T" draft QB this year just so the casual fans and media can have their hype boy NFL virgin QB to hang their "savior' hopes on. As if that alone clearly makes them the better NFL football player talent then a Justin Fields that is just a couple years older and who was drafted into a set up for failure franchise situation. One of the easiest way to throw years away is to flush premium draft picks down the toilet chasing pie in the sky BS. Instead of using them to fill out the roster with cost controlled talent and much higher hit rate need picks. And we've done a lot of flushing lately.
I like the move, by the way. Fields is a solid QB1. The question is can he deal with the bright lights of New York? Won’t be easy. Having Tyrod Taylor ready to step in if he struggles is good. I also hope they draft a QB in the mid-rounds. If so, it’s a pretty solid QB room headed into 2025. The expectations could not be lower for this Jets team. For that reason, I think they will surprise some people.
Meh I hope he plays poorly enough that we get the #1 overall pick and can take Arch Manning.* * And then trade Manning to the Saints because he refuses to play for our terribly run franchise.
And that's a battle I'm looking forward to. None of them are promised anything except a wide open chance to prove they are the right guy. "Come out fighting!"
I voted Undecided. This is the period of "Hope" prior to the period of "Hype" which normally occurs after the draft. Given that this was assumed by many to be the best choice possible, I am glad we got him.
I'm very pleased by this. Putting aside Feild's potential (which is unknown), he has proven that he can be a serviceable professional NFL talent, which is the quality you need to fairly judge the talent that surrounds him on the field. Plus, this team should not be wasting a first round pick on Chris Simms' flavor-of-the-month overhyped QB prospect.
I don't like anyone affiliated with the organization. I don't like their attitude and I don't like their competence. It is currently built to fail; and it will fail. I hope it fails quick and hard so we start building towards the future with competent players, coaches and front office personnel as soon as possible (instead of the typical Jets alternative of pretending everything is fine for 5 or 6 years), You're welcome to have any approach to the team you choose. As far as I know, I have as many Super Bowl rings as everyone in the organization combined.
Stop kidding yourself. Continue to dwell in the world of doom and gloom. You will never be happy with any new start. You are the picture perfect of your avatar.
I think it's safe to say the Jets won't be trading up to draft a QB and won't be drafting a QB in the 1st round.
