Completely agree, I would like this line-up as I do like Tyrod as a back-up, and Travis I thought has some potential and could be good to see how he does instead of spending another pick on a mid round QB. However looks like Travis is still not healthy from what I just learned. Maybe I am reading this wrong, but what does everyone think: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...tract-extensions-sauce-gardner-garrett-wilson ? ""His rehab with the Jets was not the best," his agent, Deiric Jackson, told ESPN. "They tried to rush him. It was too fast. There was pressure on the coaching staff and they tried to get him going sooner than the timeline really was. That caused the setback, and we had to shut him down completely." Jackson declined to specify the nature of the setback, though it's believed that Travis experienced swelling and soreness in his surgically repaired left ankle. The Jets defended their position, with a team spokesman saying they adhered to the rehab plan created by Travis' surgeon, orthopedist Robert Anderson. Travis should be ready to go for the 2025 season, according to Jackson, who said, "I'm optimistic."" His agent said he "should" be ready to go for 2025. He is "optimistic". That is not very encouraging. At this stage you would want to hear that he is 100% healthy, is having great personal offseason program and ready for OTAs in a few weeks (April 7). Instead we are hearing very uncertain language and on top of it, he started to blame the Jets. This doesn't sound very good at all. So, if there is a midround QB that slides or even day 2 one I can definitely see the Jets taking one. At this point we basically have to assume Travis is not there and anything we get is a bonus.
rodgers was a huge negative for me, besides the fact hes a pos as a person and was never going to be a guy to help a young player come along he also would have pushed his cap hit to next year at an astronomical number. im glad he is gone. i have no use for him and his narcisscistic tendencies. im actually warming up to the idea of kirk cousins at this point. nobody else is going to be able to help the team win games now and i think there is enough talent to do just that. while also looking toward the future.
"Swelling and soreness" would seem like an expected result of renewed physical activity after an injury like he had - why is this an issue? There seems to be no indication of further injury or complications. What is the agent looking for here?
Yes, it is not that surprising to me. It was a serious injury, Travis broke his ankle and dislocated it at the same time. Dak Prescott experienced the same injury with the Cowboys in 2020. Undoubtedly better doctors with the Dallas Cowboys than Florida State and Prescott is STILL affected by it. Last summer Prescott was seen with a walking boot on vacation and he responded saying his ankle often swells up now and walking boots are part of his “maintenance.” Swelling and soreness may just be something Jordan Travis has to live with
I am not sure - also doesn't make sense that the Jets would rush him. I mean we did have Tyrod on the bench who barely played, there was really no rush to bring in a 5th round pick coming off a serious injury. The only thing I am suspecting is for whatever reason Travis is still not fully healed up, and agent is trying to blame it on the Jets rather than on Travis' body, which might impact whether someone wants to sign him in case he is released. I really don't know, but doesn't look good as far as factoring him into 2025 plans as of now.
