Did they actually interview a diversity candidate, those freaking clowns. As much as I dislike Woody, he didn’t get played. The whole thing was a farce by NE. I think it will back fire for Vrabel.
The Pats made a mockery of the Rooney rule. They interviewed Pep Hamilton and Byron Leftwich, two guys who haven’t coached in the NFL in any capacity in 2 years just to satisfy the rule media is silent though on Kraft
Such an embarrassment to the Rooney rule and the entire NFL. Kraft is an unethical clown protected by the Commish
Not wanting to defend douchebag Kraft, but he did hire a minority head coach just one year ago, so it would be hard to accuse him of racism against minority coaches,
Is this case he had zero interest on anyone but Vrabel, essentially making a mockery and wasting time to everyone else that interviewed in good faith. Kudos to Aaron Glen for seeing right thru that BS. Now there is a guy that has shown me true leadership and smarts. He will have the respect of the players from day one.
I agree but the real mockery is that the Rooney Rule still exists. I think the stigma of AA QBs and Coaches is a thing of the past.
This fanbase is so funny, NO more first time HC and definitely no DCs, Aaron Glenn, hes our guy, Vrabel was never coming to this dumpster fire of a organization
But you have to realize that no experienced HC worth anything or a real offensive guru would almost never want to come to this shit show, with no QB, huge question marks in the other O skill positions on possibly being disgruntled and an owner like Woody. First time head coaches that are currently DC’s may be the only candidates we can get.
This is my understanding as well. Simply the opportunity TO interview, not a job guarantee. It's definitely helped and I'm all for it!
It's slowly sinking in just how weak this class of HC candidates is. There are about 2 good candidates and neither is interested in the Jets. We missed our window last offseason when there were a ton of good candidates. As always, we're one step behind.
Twitter is flooded with rumors. Here is one of them. https://x.com/JetCastPod/status/1878485328454975514
This might be the new ERA of ex-players coming back to coach their old teams. Not saying this is bad, but the honeymoon period will be pretty short if he doesn't show improvement fairly quickly. Perhaps a one year grace period. A lot is gonna depend on how he puts his staff together and if he'll get a GM that will work with him or not.
