I like the Barham pick, he isn't bigger than everyone else but he's one of those dudes that looks like an adult playing with kids on the NCAA field. He's really patient too.

Going into next season with Corley as the second receiving option is a scary thought.

Agreed. I’m just not sure how to avoid that and at some point we have to just play some of these potentially shitty draft picks and live with it until we have more money and capital to play with.

I think the idea is that fortifying the offensive line like that allows us to run the ball a lot and we can live to fight another day at receiver.

There’s probably a KJ Osborn or Darius Slayton type of signing out there for us.

Dont get the Center signing. Has Tippmann been that bad? With a new coaching staff, no Keith Carter, are we already giving up on our 2nd rd pick?

I love this idea! I won’t pretend to know enough about what college guys to draft at this early stage, so I’m just going by positions…I like fortifying the OL, but that WR group is scary…teams will double GW and we have nothing to counter with…Corley is a gadget guy not a starting wideout. Agree someone like a Darius Slayton type would be good.

Obviously will totally depend on who the next HC is, but that roster to me screams like 5 or 6 wins, maybe. Again.

I think if we let DA and Lazard walk, we’ll need to address WR sooner and with better options or else we’ll be back in this quagmire of an offense where teams will double GW, stack the box, and we’ll continue to struggle to move the chains.

I don’t know that I can take yet another year of that shit

I'm coming out with 1 soon, myself. Quite similar thinking for what you did. Really like the Jaxson Dart pick --- you beat me to it.

But making Joe Tippman a backup? He's not Nick Mangold by any means, - but w/so many holes to fill, why create another?
And as much as I like a Tony Adams re-sign myself, --- I doubt his agent will agree w/NYJ after reading that Woody Johnson himself wanted Adams benched.

I thought the same thing about Adams.

I just don’t think Tippman is very good at all and I’m tired of having a below average center. It’s had a ripple effect to other offensive lineman with bad line calls, not picking up blitzes, and he doesn’t get a push. I think about what the Chargers did when they brought Corey Linsley in and they said how much it helped Herbert out.

A bit more thorough than my idea of just nuking 1 JETS Drive....

But I want nothing to do with Jaxson Dart after watching him shit himself vs the Gators... Plus he spells his name like the Jaguars mascot.

In general I like you're ideas. But IMO to really rebuild we should cash out on Sauce and Breece. That is assuming we can get a great deal for them. To build young we're going to need more high picks, and I want to build like the Lions.

I don't believe in full rebuilds anymore and I think they may have always been bullshit. Full rebuilds now seem to me like an excuse for a new GM to cut the marquee players from the previous regime and satisfy their ego that it's "their" team now. Leonard Williams definitely says Hi. I don't care who drafted them, the Jets need to keep the players that still have juice. I think both Breece and Ahmad can be salvaged as long as they are used in a way that compliments their skills.

I don’t think you’re getting near as much as you’d like to think for either of them. If you can get two firsts for Sauce, yeah I’m in. But he crushed his value this year.

I don’t think you’re getting any better than a third for Breece.

And I echo what byz said. The Texans are a good example. A couple good draft picks, a new coach and culture and you’re turned around pretty quickly. They were obviously helped by the Watson picks but they also pissed away a ton to trade up and get Will Anderson so it evened out.

Sauce is still good. He just needs a coach that kicks him in the ass and puts him in the right scheme.

I'm not sure I want to draft another QB. I think we use a stop gap for, I hope, two years. I'd like to see Travis get healthy, but he's not healing properly so that is a concern.

Skip next year, draft a QB high the following year and don't be the Jets and ruin him in .5 seasons.

I'm onboard with Tippmann. I don't think he's very good.

Sauce isn't going to stay with us and likely wont be worth what his second contract asks. No matter how his season has gone, he is still a 2X all pro, and will expect top dollar. We can get something for him, or we can keep him while we clean up and then lose him. Breece is a RB. Unless he takes the league average second deal, he's not worth keeping.

Plus, I'm not on board with you and Byz on the no hard rebuild thing. The game is still won and lost up front. That should be the main focus, and sacrificing a CB and RB to get a quality line is worth it. A top CB on a 2nd deal is a luxutry, and great RBs are always flooding the league and the easiest position to fill. The Texans have had 3 top 3 picks in the last 3 years, and 4 firsts overall, to go with 5 seconds. Their building through high picks.

Good post! I think you forgot Tyrod Taylor. He’s under contract for 2025 and a suitable bridge QB. No need to sign Winston. I’m cool with having Travis and a rookie QB learn under him.

How many wins does your team get? 7? That’s my problem right now. I’m sick of losing. I don’t think I have the patience anymore to re-build.

Also, I’d like to know who you want for GM and Head Coach too.

We just did that though bro. And it didn’t really work. We had a million picks over two years and it didn’t rebuild the team.

I’d be interested in keeping our good players and adding more good players to the mix. Every team in the league finds a way to keep their young All Pro players without being hindered by the cap except the Jets. It’s a fallacy that we can’t keep them. The Chiefs have a million big contracts on their roster without issue.

I’d be very interested in trading Breece though. This is one of the best running back drafts I can remember and I’d love to get a good hard runner alongside Allen.

I've been back and forth on Breece, I saw the benefit of flipping young backs that prosper in a system, the Jets just aren't that system and his value isn't good at all IMO. When they had that pony personnel package they were really effective with Breece and Allen on the field and even threw Isiah Davis into the mix and he did well so we'd survive probably even if they didn't find the right back in the draft. But I'll be pretty tweaked if Breece goes to some team and leads the league in yards from scrimmage for a few years... and all we get in return is a 3rd round pick.

Also, if they plan on keeping Sherwood at LB, I think he would do far better as the pursuit backer instead of in the middle meeting backs head on. He gets manhandled.

I think we should keep Rodgers. He's a massive cap hit next year whether he is on the team or not, correct?
So let's squeeze as much value out of him as we can.
If we draft a qb in the first we can have him sit behind the old man for a year.
Let the old man take a beating while we rebuild the team.

Well done! Love the Dart pick. He will need time to develop so the Winston stop gap is a great idea.

Hoping the next regime can find some OL help in the mid rounds
