Unfortunately, he's not going to be. They're going to give him the soft landing of allowing his contract to expire, which means no accountability for the unmitigated disaster that his six years has been.

What we should get is Woody announcing the firing of Douglas Al Davis style, using an overhead projector to explain why it was done "for cause". That would be the highlight of the 2024 season. :D

I don't even think it is financial benefit, more that he thought he could save a roster spot for someone else and have these kickers elevated from PS just for the games. He actually spent slightly more by having multiple kickers, but again the amounts are minor.

It's almost as if no lesson was learned about importance of a good kicker when we lost 3 games because of a kicker, lost one who went on the lead the League, etc... Like you said, he decided to game the system over some pathetic scrub at the end of the bench and got fucked.

He was the Packers kicker last year. He's terrible.

    Sent from my genius mind.

He'll fit right in then. I sense a multi-year deal being in the works.

It's never been more obvious that no one in this organization knows what the fuck they are doing.

He was even drafted last year and promptly given up on after year 1.

    There's a real connection here.

    Sent from my genius mind.

There are other situations I would fine funnier.

Meyers, yes. Seibert had a small stretch of good games in Washington before getting hurt. Even this Shrader, who we shrugged our shoulders over a week ago, or even made fun of the team for using Sunday, now is a source of angst and criticism because the Chiefs nabbed him. I agree it looked like he had a strong leg, but c'mon. I think we're all just grouchy over the clusterfuck of a season, Again.

I think their mindset is that all they needed to do was let Greg the Leg get his head right. The Jets IR'd him but he basically says here it's "just not good kicking", "gotta hit a better ball". Not saying anything about any sort of injury.

That's the yips, so the Jets basically IR'd him to get his head right. It's probably also why they let Shrader go, they would have only held onto him for another game or 2 anyway.

I don't expect things to change, really.

Shrader will have the super bowl game winning field goal this year, while Woody sits there contemplating why the Jets have been a miserable existence ever since he bought the team and wonder where it all went wrong this year? Than the great Ar will call him and say he went into this years Darkness retreat and the Ashwanga told him that Jets will win the superbowl in 2025 and to go trade 3 1st round picks for the Nfl's 2025 washed up turd of the year. And Woody will ofcourse obilge.

This is either horribly stupid, or brilliant if you’re trying to tank.

JD needs to look at Zillow for properties in the Baltimore MD area. Heard he already has a job lined up with the Ravens when this nightmare is over.

It's soooo odd. He's a big reason the Jets are having the season they are having.

Why not just cut him? Teams replace kickers all the time.

The Jets are treating this guy like he's Vinatieri. More Jets strangeness.

Whatever at least it's finally over.

Great news! Can't wait for him to be back and piss a few more games away to improve the draft position for the new GM.

Time for Greg to be back!!! Practice window open.

I really hope they start him on Sunday. I mean what can be better than watching the kicker who has failed miserably again and again and again starting all the way back in preseason and then all throughout the season to be back and missing another FG?

There are several kickers worth a late round draft pick this year. I’d like us to go get one.

The kid from Pitt (Ben Saul’s) stuck out to me yesterday in the bowl game. He hit a 57 yarder that’s probably good from 65 (in a dome and all but still). He’s also used to kicking in colder temperatures.

With this our luck, he’ll be money now that the season is over ala the Redskins game last year.
