This is honestly the lowest I have felt as a Jets fan....

As a long time Jets fan you have seen many, many ways that things can go wrong and you tend to learn from these errors.

This is much like watching all of those Disney videos where Goofy shows us how to ski or play golf so we can learn from all of the things that go wrong.

Aside from their stubborn loyalty to this sinking ship I would say that Jets fans are wiser than most.

The current ownership, front office, and coaches set an extremely low bar for us to leap.

In terms of bad seasons this one doesn’t even rate for me.

These guys just suck as a team. They’ve beaten 1 kinda good team who they also beat last season, so who knows what’s going on in the Texans heads.

It’s wasting some statistically solid QB play (for the Jets anyway) which is a shame but the QB has had some brutal turnovers as well.

Gases offenses were harder to stomach. Wasting the 2 previous seasons defenses was harder to deal with. “The best 4-12 team in football” was a low moment. Richie Kotex in general. The Broncos and Steelers weren’t as devastating as they could have been becuase there was hope that the team was on the right path.

    Now….well. Here we are.

This team should be as a teaching example in organizational studies courses as what not to do!

I don't think this line of thinking is all that realistic in this day and age. These are young guys without significant ties in the area and they are very good and their careers are damaged by being on the Jets. In the age of NFL Team Ups, why would you think Breece or Garrett would be willing to further damage their careers as a part of this dumpster fire?

It might be moot as I almost expect the Jets to let one or both go so they can sign Sauce's weak ass to a record contract.

It seems hopeless but it can change in the blink of an eye, and I saw firsthand from the bills regime that great coaching and philosophy can overcome a lack of talent. The bills hadn’t made the playoffs in 17 years. Then McDermott comes in and takes a roster not worthy of the playoffs, and sells off its best players before the season starts. He took a team devoid of talent, made it even more devoid of talent, and then ended the 17 year drought his very first year. All it took was the right coach and culture change. Of course the bills later added Allen and others, but McDermott changed everything first by himself. That can happen with the jets too.

I feel pretty strongly that of the three of them Garret Wilson is the one to totally hitch your wagon to. I like all three but he just seems like not only the highest impact guy but likely the longest shelf life.

Last night I told my brother the only 3 pieces that they need to keep are Wilson and the Williams brothers...

I think the Jets just need a Parcells-like head coach. The talent is there.

Right now the Texans have to be asking themselves "just how in the hell did we lose to those guys?".

I am usually a very positive person. I always try to see the good in bad situation and keep a positive attitude towards things. Now you guys don't need this but I come from a rural part of Turkey. City I was born was 60 miles to Syria border. My parents didn't know how to read and write and I was the youngest of 5 siblings. Father went bankrupt when I was 10 and government accepted me into a boarding school where government fed me yada yada. I ended up representing Turkey in Math Olympics back in 1994. My academic success brought me here to United States and now I have a career and I am able to give a life to my children that I couldn't ever imagine. I remember sleeping hungry back in the day or having no heat in the house. But I always kept a positive outlook. Trying to give you guys a perspective of who I am a little.

But this positive guy finally gave up on Jets. They killed my spirits. They killed my desire to watch football.

Honestly don't know where the Jets go from here. Just when you don't think the Jets can go any lower, they find a way. Rebuild from scratch? Did that - Failed. Tank for a top QB draft pick? Did that - Failed. Bring in a new GM and coach? Did that - Failed. Sign a HOF QB? Did that - Failed. Fire the coach? Did that - Failed. I have no more suggestions on how to fix the team.

The worst part of this year is knowing that next year will likely be even worse. Probably best case is we burn it all down and set next season up as a tank year to draft a QB in 2026.

And then you think about - "OK, now what Coach and GM will be attracted to the Jets job knowing full well that you're set up to fail the next 2 years?".

It’s even worse watching the rest of the games because there’s literally zero long term upside on offense outside of Garrett Wilson. The offensive line sucks and most of the pieces are gone at the end of the year. Rodgers/Adams are useless in terms of any sort of bright side future for the franchise.

I found myself emotionally detaching (after decades of fandom, mind you, through thick and thin) when they hired Gase, what was that 5 years ago. But I have to say, as someone alluded to above, this particular incarnation of the team is so damn unlikable, from Woody on down to AR and his crew. This is new. They are not even lovable losers any more.

It's rock bottom. The reason is what is the future of the team? There is no current clear path besides ripping up the floorboards and starting all over

If we did a post-mortem, it always starts at the top as we all know.

Unfortunately, we're stuck with Woody Johnson, the loser.

But our fabulous GM had 6 years to build a team identity/culture. 6 YEARS AND WE STILL DON'T HAVE ONE

"We drafted some talented players!" is what the defenders always say specifically the 2022 draft class.

Joe Douglas is just pathetic. Historically one of the worst GMs to ever exist.

The Jets need a Parcells-like head coach. He could turn them around immediately, just like Parcells did.

This thread feels like therapy. That's not a knock.

I'm grateful for the community because as silly as It may sound to others, this shit sucks. This Is supposed to be something that helps alleviate some of those RL problems, not add to them.

Yet. Every year. They just make It worse.

Normally I have input or something constructive to say In regards to this team. I can't find a thing right now to bring peace or reason as a fan of this team. I got nothing.

I've never been this low as a fan. That's saying something too.

The most egregious part of this failed Jets season is the teams overall incompetence and their complete disinterest in competing.

Yesterday the Cardinals played like their hair was on fire and the Jets countered with the conviction of a group of beer addled beach goers at a summer pick-up game.

Brook thanks for sharing. I hope you can still find some joy in the game soon enough. It's darkest before the dawn. things can and do change. (see buffalo, see detroit , see Pats)

I live up here in Boston and witnessed a long depressed fan base -- at least for baseball (remember the 1918 chants -- the best) and football. Their fortunes changed; ours can too

You're right that the game shouldn't make you so miserable. My advice is calibrate expectations some, maybe take a break stepping back a little or a lot.
