I don't know if it is an obligation, it is more of a ritual. Many of us show up 6-8 hours before the game to set up massive tailgate parties and hang out with fellow fans and often times people we have crossed paths with at tailgates over the years. Good BBQ food, beers, camaraderie always make it a fun experience even when the team is dog shit. This seems to be especially true when it is brutally cold and everyone is suffering together.

Like many before me have posted, if they moved the team to another city and dropped the name New York and Jets. Not only that, they would have to change the uniform so radically that it would not be reminiscent of the old uniforms. In other words, similar to the Houston Oilers >>>> Tennessee Titans transformation.

I posted same sentiment last night.
At least Rex has ROOTS. And has had success. (relative)

I’m just about there. Thank God the Rangers and Knicks are both looking up. I’m handing out the Halloween candy this year just so I don’t have to watch this nightmare.

Fire all of them! Buy Woody weekly pastrami subs.

Most if not all Season Ticket Holder Jet Fans had to purchase Personal Seat Licenses in order to stay in the same section of the new stadium. I protested the PSL hung banners.etc. and was escorted to one of the Jet courts in the bottom of the stadium for it. Twice. Expected to never return.

After the new stadium was built, my wife gave me the PSLs for our anniversary.

As a result of the PSL I am obligated to purchase the season tickets at whatever price the Jets impose. Including the worthless Pre Season Games.

Last year I sold the season. This year I planned to go to most of the games. Just put up my tix and parking pass for the Halloween game. Know I will not get anywhere near face value for them.

The smart thing to do is stop the bleed, stop buying the tickets, and let the PSLs go for a loss. However, I hate loosing money. I will probably start selling the whole season and when they become a legitimate marketable team I will sell the PSLs and be done with that...hopefully before I leave this "Mortal Coil".

    Good on you brotha

The balls this team has for charging anymore than 25$ a ticket with that dog shit they trot out there. You deserve better.

They should be obligated to lower ticket prices exponentially each consecutive year they have a losing record

After 62+ years I'm at the point of putting them on "Ignore" unless, and until, they put a consistent winner on the field. I don't have enough sand in the hourglass lest to waste it watching a team that has proven itself to be an incompetent, losing franchise. Some teams are known for winning: Steelers, Packers, Ravens, Eagles, Patriots (previous version), Cowboys, 49'ers, Vikings, and a few others, and then there are those who are known for losing, and the Jets are firmly assigned to that group.

    I'm done.

I’m too old to be screaming at losers anymore. I’ll always be a Jets fan, but they will never get the benefit of the doubt with me. Until this team has a bonafide young franchise top 10 QB I just don’t see any reason to even begin to get my hopes up.

I'm already there. I'm tuning out. Maybe one day someone will say to me: "Hey, the Jets are having a great year" and then I'll consider coming back. For now, I'm logging out of this forum and I've already unsubscribed from all Jet-related Youtube channels. That's it for me and the NFL. The product isn't as good as it used to be anyway. The refereeing is SO inconsistent and decides way too many games. Goodbye and good luck!

I'm walking away and I might come back if they become good and I'll say: "I didn't waste any more of my time watching a crappy team for years".

I've found switching to IPAs on gameday helps.... as long as you're not planning on doing anything afterwards

Yes exactly. I’ve grown up. I no longer need them as an emotional outlet. I want to watch a fun football game. The Jets aren’t fun to watch.
Remember two or three years ago bucs vs jets. Even though we lost that was a fun game

I pretty much only read about how the Jets are doing at this point. I've only watched a handful of quarters over the past 7 years or so. I haven't missed a thing.

If they move I’m done. I felt bad for Oakland, losing the raiders.
The only good thing about the jets being so bad, is it makes woody out to be the weakling he is.
He’s 77. We’ve got ten more years of him at most.
maybe he will choke on some caviar… or some cock

I am pretty sure that any of us who are still supporting this sorry franchise are in for the long haul and will be fans until we are dead and buried.

I'm stuck with the Jets but one of my proudest achievements as a parent is that I told my boys to find other teams to support. It was around 2018 and the only stipulation I gave them was that they couldn't choose the Patriots. I suggested they look for a team with a good young quarterback because that was the key to winning. I suggested that the Chiefs might be a good choice. My oldest son has now enjoyed three Super Bowl titles. My younger son, very worryingly, is showing signs of gravitating to the Jets. I keep telling him not to, but what can you do? It's his choice in the end.

But yeah, I'm stuck with them. Not because I think they will one day turn it around, but because it's been too long now. As Ripley famously said to the alien that had made her life a misery - 'You've been in my life so long, I can't remember anything else.'

She wasn't happy about it. It was just a fact.

If one looks at what the definition of "Fan" is, you'd notice that its a contraction of the word "Fanatic". Over the decades, this team has driven the fanaticism out of me and at this point, I follow the Jets and root for them. I am no longer "fanatical" about them.

I no longer get super angry when they lose because of something stupid. Nor do I get upset when they make personnel decisions at the cost of sacrificing the future in some vain effort to win the PR competition for backpage space.

I just shrug now.... Pour myself a Makers 46 and relax.
