I've seen enough of Rodgers to see he's shot. Herbert signed a 5 year deal before their coach came back to the NFL. They have below avg receivers, below avg TE's and avg at best RB's. Their team is defense 1st and run game. They don't need a guy like Herbert. I think he'd do well here and if they can some how trade Rodgers for him and give up picks I'd do it. Herbert doesn't fit the Chargers system, he has only 1,100 yds passing through 6 games and likely won't do well today against the Saints pass D. I'd rather take him on than yet another failed early round QB pick in the draft that the Jets can't coach up.
If Rodgers Leaves after this season, I’d be kicking the tires on him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Trading for Herbert on his own would cost multiple first rounders. Trading for Herbert and getting the Chargers to take Rodgers's contract would cost a few years' worth of them.
I’m with it actually. We should definitely approach the Chargers with the Rodgers for Herbert and a conditional 5th trade structure.
I don’t want this team to trade for a high end qb or draft a qb in the first round ever again. I don’t want any expectations. I want them to sign a bridge qb and see what happens, if it doesn’t work it doesn’t work and they won’t look like idiots I’m tired of the expectations. Drafting a rookie QB and expect him to change this franchise is clearly asking too much. Same as signing/trading for a QB Jared Goff was traded to the lions to be a bridge QB, as was baker when he signed with the Bucs
I think this is actually the situation where it was actually the breakfast sandwich that got it done and not just a cute story.
I'm sure the Chargers are jumping at the chance to pull something like this off. Trade a young stud quarterback for a 41-year-old guy who can't move anymore and would hamstring their cap. Too bad Woody doesn't own the Chargers. We might have a shot at this.
