Bingo. There's no way to impact the direction of the team from the fanbase's side of things aside from being embarrassing. It worked when the fanbase pressured Woody into firing Idzik. Hopefully the guys behind that know that they're services are needed again this season.
This! Hess finally did the right thing and let Parcells take over the team. After running on the fumes of that success the team has been in a downward spiral. Woody knows little about football and his brother knows even less.

Woody said "thinking is overrated," the other day... & therein lies the problem. I wonder when the lightbulb in his head's gonna light up - - that players don't matter if the systems suck? That changing a few titles, & responsibilities, does not a competent CS make? Any winning culture starts with the leadership of the CS. So, will Woody ever get the idea to hire a winning team around him, so he can take a long vacation from GMing, & let those that know run his ship? For whatever reason, Woody believes hiring the ship's steward to be the new captain, is a shrewd maneuver. His cluelessness is remarkable. .
the man thinks he is a Lord. we are to be grateful for him allowing us to root for his team. we are to pay tithings to him, while he pays nothing back. when he pisses on us, half the fan base thanks him bc they worship rich people as their Lords. I have kind of laid out what needs to happen before but I will put it out there. 1. Fans on here need to stop rooting for the firing of coaches and GMs and giving Woody someone to scapegoat cause he clearly pays attention to the fans and media. It is completely non-sensical to listen to fans complain about a coach and GM who are not making the actual decisions. Like running around the Titanic trying to fire the architect while sinking in the middle of ocean. 2. I do think fans can make a good case to get Woody to stop meddling and to hire someone else to run the team. Nothing about this team is run like a football team, its run on spur of the moment cash grab type behaviors of the owner. 3. For the future to change, Woody must take the blame for all the problems, remove himself from the decision making including which players are paid, which coaches are hired or fired, which players get drafted etc. He needs to remove himself completely from all football decisions. This might mean hiring an operations person, maybe instituting a fan staffed-board for input, could be all sorts of ideas that could leverage the responsibility of overseeing the team so that he is not involved, and we can finally see what a team looks like; one that is allowed to build on it's own successes. 4. To summarize, fans need to be smarter, need to demand reasonable things and the owner needs to dissolve his meddling behaviors. I like the thought of Woody hiring a head of football operations, agreeing publicly to stay out those matters, and then also instituting a team fan board - however that is done - to ensure that the team is going in the right direction. INTELLIGENT Fans and a competent football person should be enough to steer the ship towards at least the playoffs.

There is so much you wrote here that is just plain wrong, but I'll just address your summary: How much smarter? Should fans be smart enough to know that if the guy who owns the business makes changes in the business, that is his right; it is not "meddling" even if those changes don't fix anything or make them worse? Fans, also commonly called "customers," don't get to run a business they patronize or make demands but they can choose to voice their opinion about it; at any time and may withdraw their patronage if the situation becomes untenable.
The funny thing is Jets fans are the nicest in the league. There were a lot of Steelers fans who wanted Tomlin fired. Imagine if the Steelers started playing as badly as the Jets; they'd raze the stadium to the ground.
Woody is not selling. But I don't get the point about "meddling", at least not now. Woody should have cleaned the house last year, and was an utter moron for not doing it. However, I do not see how his meddling this season hurt the team. He supposedly meddled when he fired Saleh. Saleh is a failure who had a losing record for the 4th year in a row. He should have been fired. It's true, team continues to suck without him just like it did with him. But Saleh was not a HC, and firing him to me is not the kind of meddling that hurts the team. Woody then "meddled" to get Adams for a 3d round pick. Granted, I do think we slightly overpaid because there is a AFC Champ game condition there, but it is unlikely to be met. Overall the trade was a solid one, and Adams makes the team better. It was close to a fair price. So, I just don't see how getting Adams for a fair price to help team win this year is bad, I just don't. Finally he meddled to end Reddick's holdout. Again, how does it make the team worse? We did not sign Reddick to an extension. He is only getting paid for the games that are left. Reddick basically caved. And we need pass rush and DEs. I just don't get i how it is a negative on Woody. And get what Chris Johnson? The guy who gave you the current regime? Woody is an absolute imbecile for not cleaning house last year, but you are pointing the good moves that should have been done instead. And then want him to die so that we get the guy who is even more responsible for the current mess.
The actual point. Is that anytime you have an owner “meddling” In any capacity. Your team Is likely doomed or Is about to be doomed. Which brings us back to the circle of life In which I realize that the same “meddling” owner who will eventually fire them. Is also the same meddling owner who will ultimately hire them.
