Nobody beat that drum louder then me leading in to the season. We had zero answers for that offense, and which made any projection that we'd be finishing ahead of them in the division pretty silly imo. BUT....i mean this is pretty extreme drop off we've seen happen in Miami. That offense looks horrific. To such an extent you'd really have to being viewing Tua as an all time great and HoF level to talent to adequately explain how missing him makes up for that much of difference there. Yet, Tua arguably isn't even a top 10 in the league type guy. So it just doesn't add up to me that he comes back and suddenly everything is back to how it was in 2023 again. I'm guessing there is a lot more fail and production regression going on in that total picture. With the league and tape maybe somewhat catching up to McDaniel. So I got us down for 2 wins there. Even with the Hackett handicap.
I hope you are right. That offense just seems to "click" with Tua but you are right, there are differences. Crossing my fingers!
Gun to my head right now my answer is no. That said they have one of the more talented rosters in the NFL unfortunately the coaching is lacking and realistically the Jets are now operating with a partial coaching staff? The head coach was fired and the offensive coordinator was (thankfully) neutered.
Like i said multiples times over the last few days not gonna get too worked up over a losing a game we were always likely to lose going in to this season. Fighting for the 7th and final seed spot was always the most reachable goal on the board this season without a legit offensive coach in the building. Anything above that was just over-hyped BS. We can beat NE next week. After that Houston will be the first real season-on-the-line type game we need to be able to win if we want that last spot.
You serious? For a 5-2 team the Steelers are not a great offensive team and tonight was their starters first game and we couldn't stop them. What makes you think we can hang with any other playoff caliber team?? We can't stop anyone and in the off chance we do we some how shoot ourselves in the foot
I never said anything about hanging with any other playoff caliber team. Well other then Houston who i don't count because i don't think they'd end up a sure fire playoff team playing out of a different division. To a make the playoffs goal we just need to be better then the rest of the borderline crowd. After Houston we got Arizona and Indy who got no shortage of their own consistency problems. Those are winnable games. Get to the bye the 6-5. Then win 3 out of 4 against Miami x2, Jacksonville, and the Rams. That gets us to 9 wins and the seeding chance will fall where it may from there. There is a path there that still allows us to get smoked in a game we likely won't be able to play keep up in vs Seattle, and of course the second late season game against the Allen/Bills on their typical late season circle the wagons run.
