1. Don't pay him a cent beyond this year. 2. Work out the Davante Adams situation before anything, Reddick can wait another week. 3. If we lose tonight then ignore 1 and 2, proceed to the February house cleaning and March sell off of assets for picks.
If our season is alive then sure let him play. But if he shows up after our season is over then fuck him, he can sit on the bench or in the locker room.
@BrowningNagle @dawinner127 @GQMartin Thanks Guys! Yeah, sounds like another typical agent. More than anything it's perhaps a fresh start for Reddick to do something now that should already been done with old agent but save face, using old agency as a scapegoat. A positive development, regardless of who the new agent is, particularly given he will attend tonight's game. I do want to see him join the team, we do need help at Edge, and as dumb as Reddick is, he is a very good player.
I can see a deal getting done with the Lions. They lost Hutch for the year and badly need pass rush help. Being that they are trying to win a super bowl this year, I could see them being willing to make whatever moves necessary (trade capital wise and salary wise) to get a deal done so they dont throw the season away. I know Reddick allegedly turned down a 1 year deal, but maybe his new agents can talk him into not burning a hole in his pocket for the rest of this season, getting some money and playing with a super bowl contender, and then entering free agency next year. This is the best option for all parties imo.
Tory Dandy tried looking for a trade in the spring which resulted in the Jets making a move for him. Rosenhaus is going to try and do better now I guess.
I can't say this is some huge black mark on JD, but it's still not good. Hard to anticipate someone flushing their career down the drain because of what appears to be being slighted. 99 percent of people handle it differently and don't go nuclear. What's Jetsy about it is it is happening now, and the last time it happened the Jets signed the player which was a total fail.
The Jet "BrainTrust" finally realized that Reddick won't matter in the big picture for '24 as this team is far more than one player away on Defense. Maybe JD can recoup something for the 3rd rounder he got swindled out of by his old boss. I mean, its not like his job is on the line right.....?
This is the best news out of Jets camp probably all season. Finally they may be able to get some valuable draft capital back after Joe Douglas got fleeced once again. You know Douglas is taking a big sigh of relief even though he had nothing to do with this update today. Unload this malcontent Reddick asap as he wants nothing to do with the Jets and I can't blame him.
Based on that, I now fully expect Reddick to be a Lion by the end of the day. This would be a typical Jet and Joe Douglas move.
We'll see. The Adams trade, the Reddick trade to this point, the Tyron Smith signing, the Mike Williams signing, his drafting, his coaching hires, his handling of the O-line and QB situations, all would indicate otherwise.
"Newly" reported in the last two weeks was this condition that the Eagles receive a 2nd rounder for Reddick if he goes to an NFC team. Not only are Woody and Douglas completely clueless but now they're covering up important details like draft compensation. That's some fucked up shit. They don't give two shits about the fanbase obviously. Can someone fire JD today, please? And Woody, well send him back to England or Iran or somewhere else. He deserves some serious flack.
Yikes. Jets have really no leverage on Tedsick. Yeah he losing millions but Jets imo are more of a desperate.
