It's so frustrating to watch our offense 'work'... I expected some hiccups but not the Keystone Cops. I'm not counting on Todd Downing to fix this wreck... but who knows,
The last time Downing called plays on Monday night football he kicked ass and then drank his face off and tried driving home at 4:30 in the morning
How can you keep Hackett in the building , with his relationship with Rogers , and expect Downing to call his offense .Is there a team in the nfl history that a oc is demoted and remains with the team? That is because Rogers and Hackett are in charge of the offense and Downing is the fall guy for any problems. You think that Downing has more input than Rodgers and Hackett in Mondays game
Yeah, I would've had Hackett leave. If Rodgers said "I'm going too", well then the re-tooling starts earlier. But I suspect Rodgers would not say that because he wants to go out on a high note, and while not playing all last year was bad enough for his resume, being a prima donna and walking out on your team is even worse. Hackett brings NOTHING to this team - aside from being Rodgers' ball boy - and can only be a potential negative. What "input" or "help" could he possibly provide given his track record? Nothing. As with all Woody decisions, this is another half-assed one.
Agree with above posts. There is absolutely zero reason for Hackett to still be with this team in any capacity. It's such a bad look all the way around and sends mixed signals to the entire team. When you rip the band-aid off, you rip it off completely. But not when Woody is running the show. He's such a dipshit.
Why bother now? 2-4 and 2 and a half games out. Fuck it, lie in the bed you made Joe Douglas Ah shit sorry I thought I was in the Devante Adams thread
Still a ton of 1st down draws up the middle today for minimal gain. I counted at least 5. Breece got most of his yards on pitches or stretches plays going outside the numbers so not sure why they are so insistent on running him up the middle.
Because they can't run out of 12. Their TE room is the worst in the fucking league. They have to run out of 11 and in shotgun. There is no other option.
They were still breaking the huddle way too late and snapping the football with 1 or 0 seconds on the play clock way too much. Its gotta be a QB thing
I saw some signs of better play design and creativity. Also saw too many long-developing run plays that gotobliterated, though terrible blocking is also at fault there. He wasn't WORSE than Hackett.
I would say Downing was an upgrade over Hack, closer to what MILF did. Like during MILF era they moved the ball better between the 20s, particularly with Mike White, but couldn't quite get enough TDs. There some hope there, but with Keith Carter coaching the line, it's uphill battle anyway.
