This loss and potential injury again for Rodgers is squarely on Hacketts shoulders. What smart OC decides on 3rd & 1 to rollout a QB and throw the ball, especially when the Oline hasn’t blocked anyone today. I just don’t get the play calling at all and then WRs aren’t on the same page as AR. Bad loss today!
Basically they have given the expectation that Hackett is akin to a traffic cone that the team has to navigate around. That's what all that business about trying to replace him and trying to get him help was all about. It's obvious when you watch the situational play calls and personnel usage. Sometimes they get it fixed before it's too late, other times, oh well you lose to Bo Nix's tiny hands.
I think as a whole the Jets probably have the worst coaching staff in the league. I do legitimately believe Dave Canales and friends down in Carolina would do a better job with this roster which is pretty good. The offense line was also atrocious today. This is one of those moments where Todd Bowles would at least flip a table at halftime.
In a game where Tiki Barber is calling fornAllen to be the main RB in the 4th quarter as he was the only semblance of a running game all day, Hackett continued to run Hall who was horrible. it’s almost like Hackett’s ego is more important thab winning football ganes.
Agreed. Rodgers has shown in pretty much every game that he's still got it, so there's really no excuse for this predictable, timid playcalling. Nothing changed from last year, except that Rodgers has the talent and experience to minimize the damage from the bad plays.
Poor coached game all around… but anyone could see that breece did not have it today, and should have been spelled by the 2nd qtr. For get reddick too, we need a big run stuffer in the middle
Yeah the players, some in particular had really poor outings today but as a total package that we've now gotten to observe for 3+ years now I don't think this coaching staff is one that is going to lead anybody to the promised land. For all the shit Lafluer took the first couple Zach years I at least some flashes of innovation and nice playsets to build (maybe) some success off of. If this current iteration is bringing anything to the table that actually gives the Jets any kind of coaching-supplied advantage over the rest of the NFL I'm not personally seeing it. Its not that Saleh and the staff (as a whole) are "bad" they just aren't any good.
Leaving the coaching staff in place which we know is incompetent is a problem. Rodgers covers up a lot, but he can't cover up everything. We had an opportunity to upgrade the coaching staff AND still have Rodgers at QB. But Johnson fucked up by not cleaning house and we are paying the price.
How stupid does Woody sound now, when he said we didn't have a QB and that is the reason for all the problems. No we didn't have a QB, but we also had the worst OC in the NFL by far. Saleh is a DC, not a HC, so with him you really need a talented OC. Really both should have been replaced.
3rd and long. Potential last play for the offense. Haven’t stopped the pass rush all day. Empty 5 wide. Are you F’n kidding me? You don’t need a 50 yd play. You need to stop the pass rush and get 6 yards to continue the drive and make the field goal shorter. This coaching staff will continue to hold this team back in every way and this cheap moron running the team playing real like fantasy football will continue to not see it.
Like I said in the game thread... Hackett often out-thinks himself... and it turns out that's an easy thing to do.
