Football officially kicked off with NCAA games yesterday - what’s everyone got for predictions this year? Some of mine; 49ers miss the playoffs this year. They’re beaten up already, offensive line looks weaker and I think Purdy is a bit of a fraud. Saints win the South, Derek Carr has a big year. Finally comfortable down in New Orleans and still have a good roster. The Falcons are mediocre at best - they seem to be everyone’s darling right now. Anthony Richardson shows us he’s OK and can run around but isn’t a long term NFL passer. The Titans and Jags battle for the AFC South. Texans take a step back. The Lamar Jackson/Derrick Henry pairing doesn’t work. To me it doesn’t make sense. You want Lamar in the gun and you want Henry as an I-back… The Raiders and Bills revive smashmouth football. Both teams have two good young tightends and can knock defenses off the ball. The NFC North sends three teams to the playoffs, the East sends one (Eagles). Cowboys are a disappointment and McCarthy gets canned. The Jets make the playoffs. Woohoo!
Caleb Williams will be Chicago's first QB to throw for 4000 yards in a season and does so in his rookie campaign.
Some of your picks, actually most of, I could not disagree more. I like the thread idea a lot though. I'll have to get my computer out, cuz I'm not replying to all that on my phone. ..
Those are some good takes, even if I don't agree with all of them. I'm caught between thinking the Saints will be good and thinking Dennis Allen will be the first coach fired. I'm learning more towards the former. I think Josh Allen is going to struggle without Diggs and the Bills will be a wildcard weekend out. Bryce Young will show growth and the bust claims will quiet Russell Wilson will revive his career in Pittsburgh. Tomlin will finally win another playoff game. Arizona will be a wildcard team Sam Darnold will be a top 15 QB in passing TD's.
I’m in on the two bold. I think the Steelers are another candidate to revive smashmouth football. Two good backs, been beefing up the offensive line and will start Russ as a premiere play action down field passer.
Great thread! If Rodgers/Taylor stay upright the team makes the playoffs......then goes deep! Lions end the drought and represent the NFC in the Super Bowl by slipping by the Niners in the NFCG (Purdy makes the pro-bowl...somehow I just think a crap ton of people FORGET that QB'ing is all about decision making and that kid is so dialed into Shanahan's system that it's not even funny) The Ravens have the first ever 400 yd. rushing in a single game... The Squeelers finally have a losing season (the fans actually mutiny for Tomlinson's head...they simply have NO idea how good they have it). Not only did they completely whiff on that Pickett pick, but then they doubled down on Field, who will NEVER be more than a spot backup in the NFL and Russel Wilson who has dropped off so quickly that it's scary. Can't remember a time when a QB lost his skills so quickly... The Broncos win the AFC-West and are this year's worst to first team Caleb Williams, meet NFL defenses, the Bears do NOT make the playoffs. In fact, it's a tossup between they come in dead last in the division.
Great thread. These are my honest predictions. So no dramatic effect. - Jets will win AFC East and play in the championship game. Superbowl depends on health - Bengals and Bills will miss the playoffs. Bengals due to injuries and Bills due to deteriorating roster. - Chargers will make some noise but will miss playoffs. - Cowboys will take a step back and miss playoffs. - Giants and Patriots will finish the league with worst record. - Russel Wilson will bust at Steelers as well but Steelers will make the playoffs.
I'll take a swing at a few: The Washington Commanders make a run at the playoffs on the back of a strong rookie QB performance from Jaden Daniels coupled with the mess that the Giants and Cowobys have become. I don't see them overtaking the Eagles, but I think they give the Eagles a decent run for their money before having to settle for battling for a wildcard spot. 49ers limp into the playoffs after struggling to be consistent for most of the year. They bow out in the first round New England is better than predicted, battles for third place in the AFC East with the Jets. Sam Darnold plays well this season, making it a four team race in the NFC North, which joins the ranks of the AFC North as one of the league's two most competitive divisions. Darnold is named to the Pro Bowl after one of the QBs in front of him declines to participate. The Vikings, Packers, and Bears battle for two of the wild card spots behind Detroit, who wins the division.
The Lions have the #1 offense We have the #1 defense The Bengals make the AFC Championship Deshaun Watson gets hurt again, or benched The Steelers win no more than 7 games The Titans have the worst offense in the league The Giants have the worst defense in the league Bo Nix has the best rookie QB season Gus Edwards/JK Dobbins lead the Chargers to a top 5 rush offense Dak Prescott finishes as a top 5 fantasy QB Aaron Jones finishes as a top 8 fantasy RB Malik Nabers, and Brian Thomas Jr. steal the spotlight from Marvin Harrison Jr, but all 3 get over 1,100 yards The Rams don't decline, they may even get better The Saints will bench Carr, and fire Allen Caleb Williams is good, but overhyped as the Bears finish with 7 or 8 wins No QB has more than 10 rushing TD Draft Order: Giants Titans Patriots Saints Vikings I DESTROY EVERY FANTASY LEAGUE I'M IN WITH EASE
Robert Saleh leaves the team mathematician at home again and Hall ends up 7 yards short of the crown for most rushing yards in the season.
The Jets will be undefeated at the trade deadline. Haason Reddick will never play a single snap for the New York Jets. Mike Williams will flash early but he will eventually be a shadow of himself. We will be talking about fatigue on Rodgers' ankle by week 14 (after some picks that are attributed to Hackett) and wondering if the giant number of snaps in camp on a QB with a surgically repaired achilles was wise. There will be threads on TGG by week 4 asking if Braelon Allen should be starting. Chuck Clark will be the Jets defensive MVP by mid-season. The Jets will trade Haason Reddick and picks at the deadline to the Raiders for Davante Adams.
Because he has a history of blowing up over young receivers not doing their job Sent from my genius mind.
I saw the script and it has Jets v Packers in the superbowl rodgerd ends his career with a juicy matchup
