With all the dynamic receiver talent in the league, it’s amazing people thought he was a good signing.
Love that Olu is playing both sides. Love even more that this group is actually getting reps this early. Thank you for the updates. I don't do twitter/x so I look forward to it everyday.
Per PFF, the top five @NYJets pass rush grades through first two preseason games (min 14 pass rush reps). 1: Will McDonald- 91.7 2: Braiden McGregor- 85.9 3: Takk McKinley- 79 4: Leonard Taylor- 68.6 5: Michael Clemons- 67.3
That's a little surprising. I thought Watt might be on that list McGregor is doing better than I thought. In a way, that's not good however, as I don't see any way that he will make the roster. If he does too well in preseason, then some other team will claim him off of waivers. Watt is making the team. They paid him too much money to sign for him not to be on the roster.
Crap! So there were two injuries last night: JBC and Irvin Charles. Hopefully, neither is serious. Stock down: CB Jarrick Bernard-Converse He’s been one of the surprises of the summer, standing out at a new position (converting from safety) both during practices and in last week’s preseason opener. He was battling with wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. on Saturday, and both were trading blows before Bernard-Converse left with a groin injury and was declared “doubtful” to return, which is never a good sign. Bernard-Converse is a safe bet to make the 53 but if the injury is serious that could throw a wrench into things. Miscellaneous notes • Wide receiver Irv Charles, a key special teamer, left Saturday’s game with a hip injury. Hughes: Aaron Rodgers made a ridiculous throw in practice just now. Side arm to get it past a reaching Mosley, closing Sauce Gardner. Garrett Wilson on the catch. Only like a 10-yard gain, but throws like that are ones only a few can make. He was pumped after it, too. #Jets
Rosenblatt: Both Jarrick Bernard-Converse and Isaiah Oliver aren’t practicing today for #Jets. No, Michael Carter is still not practicing.
Sabo: Full gear on a Monday, two days post-preseason game, the #Jets break into some ST work after stretches, while Aaron Rodgers and the QBs do their warming-up thing. Great catch by #Jets Kenny Yeboah on the first play of teams. Aaron was offers settled on him quickly, throw wasn’t great, but Yeboah went down for it nicely.
Rosenblatt: Been a pretty ugly practice for the #Jets offense in 11 on 11 today. Aaron Rodgers had five straight incompletions with a sack (Will McDonald) and false start mixed in.
Hughes: The #Jets offense just capped their worst period of the summer. Oddly uncharacteristic. Everything looked wrong. Aaron Rodgers went 1-of-7 passing. Most of those I couldn’t even tell who the ball was supposed to go to. Also a would-be obvious sack and false start. It was very weird. Like they weren’t trying.
Seems to me McD continues to have a very strong camp and pre season. Encouraging. Not too happy at the 1st team offense ups and downs, very uncharacteristic with AR behind center
The Will McDonald spin move is clearly very effective, but he seems to be a one trick pony right now. Hopefully he can build off the spin move and develop some other moves. Could be a real force if he does.
