It's a road game so I hope you all don't mind too much, but The Jets play in London in week 5. Sunday 6 October v Minnesota at Tottenham Hotspur's stadium (they are shit by the way, but their stadium is nice). Great for us on this side of The Atlantic, but an early start with a likely 09:30 kick-off for you. It will sell out in minutes. See you there.
I hate London games, they are a pain in the ass to get up in the morning to wach the game but I hope Jets choose not to get the bye after the London game, early byes suck
I was looking forward to this game but I opted to travel to London during Christmas to watch some soccer instead of watching Jets in London. Looking forward to the games in Nashville and Pittsburgh as my away games. For those of you heading to London for the game, have fun!
9:30 is too early to watch football for me. I'll probably DVR it and watch it around noon. I'm honestly surprised that they don't have the games in London closer to prime time for them. Isn't the goal to get as many viewers as possible? I'd think they would do that not only for the players sanity and being well rested, but also for ratings.
I'd consider going but all they were offering last year was vastly overpriced hospitality tickets - £500+ for a game and a few sandwiches is a total rip-off. I think Spurs are trying to pay for their stadium by over charging fans of other sports. Pity its not at Wembley - bigger ground, easier to get to and a lot cheaper prices!
I remember the tickets were much cheaper when the Jets played the Falcons there a few years ago. If the prices are £500 I’ll just buy off a tout on the day.
It is prime time for us in the UK, 2.30pm on a Sunday afternoon. As for ratings, it won't compete with soccer, for which a couple of prime time games are reserved for every Sunday afternoon too and will air at the same time on different TV channels and on in most bars. Different audiences. It will sell out very quickly. The Jets are among the most popular teams over here.
There'll be stuff happening on the Saturday, too. Not sure what yet, but I'll post up on this site as soon as I know. Search GangGreenUK on Facebook and Twitter, join/follow and you'll know quicker than I can post it here! Looking forward to welcoming you over and seeing some old friends from previous trips.
I hear ya...9:30 way too early. When I visit my bro on the west coast, the hardest thing to get used to is Sunday NFL games start a 10am, when eating cereal! And Monday Night Football starts 6pm, about the time they get home from work....
