Thought it would be fun to have everybody make their statement, either a prediction or a "this is the guy we should take/move we should make" kinda thing. This way, in a year or two, we can actually call people out on their good picks, bad picks, or see who the flip-floppers are. I want the Jets to either trade back or take a receiver or lineman. I don't want them to reach, I want them to be smart about it. I am already bald, or I would threaten to pull all my hair out of my head if they take a defensive player. I am not sold on Brock Bowers. This way, Il in a year or two I can either say I told you so or you can ridicule me if he's a superstar. What you guys got?
Fun thread. I will play. But folks, FYI, I will move all Draft Threads to Draft Forum tomorrow. I think we will draft Odunze and his game won't translate into NFL and he will be mid. Either draft OL or Bowers.
Three scenarios would make me happy: Move up for Alt, MHJ, or Nabers. Stay at 10 and grab Bowers. Take Odunze if Bowers is gone. Outside that, look for a trade down partner.
I think we are going to draft tackle and by week six when said tackle hasn’t played yet and the trade deadline is approaching we’re going to be scrambling to find any semblance of a playmaker.
I don't want to take Bowers at 10. I'm in for the best available tackle at 10 or trading back a little for a tackle. Not sexy, but, necessary imo. I'm all in for a WR in Rd. 3 or if we somehow recoup a second-rounder.
If we end up with him, Odunze will be fine, but we'll be kicking ourselves for not taking Bowers if he was available. Proponents of taking an OT will be saying "Well we couldn't have predicted he wouldn't start many games this season!" when he doesn't start many games this season.
McCarthy is not worth a first round pick whatsoever. Caleb will be a good QB and all of the supposed red flags are overstated. Maye will also be good and that’s probably about it for the class. Laiatu Latu will be Micah Parsons Jr. provided he stays healthy. Fuaga will be an elite OL regardless if he ends up at OG or RT. Fashanu ends up as a big disappointment. Not saying the first round WR’s won’t be good but there will be good receivers found in round 3 and beyond. Ja’Lynn Polk, Cowing, Pearsall, Brendan Rice, Jermaine Burton to name a few. Not sure if any of this is going out on a limb but just some of my thoughts.
Another one from me. Patriots will trade down and will do it with Giants most likely. And Giants will select Drake Maye with the 3rd pick.
BPA at 10 is going to be a DT who the Jets will draft and will play 25% of the defensive snaps this season.
The closer we get, the more I like Bowers at 10, then a move up for Leggett or Pearsall. I really think the Jets view Carter Warren as their LT of the future.
