Rap reporting the Jets have signed Mike Williams to a 1 year deal worth up to 15M. Wow , massive move from JD!
Ian Rapoport on X: "Sources: Former #Chargers WR Mike Williams is signing with the #Jets on a 1-year deal worth up to $15M, another weapon for Aaron Rodgers. He’s on a visit there today. https://t.co/Ob8EZDTvkV" / X (twitter.com)
Coming off an ACL tear which is scary but at least it happened early in the season so plenty of time to recover. Now I have no idea what we do in the draft. Bowers time?
No, we take our future LT/RT. Neither Smith nor Moses are going to play 17+ games this season, and one or both may play less than 12 games. We have to get an OT.
I mean, JD ain't messing around so either the team is going to be stacked or we'll be setting records for salary on the IR and playing PS players by Halloween. This is what all-in looks like.
Really opens us up for 10th pick. We may have a stud WR or OL fall to us, or trade to desperate QB hungry team
Huge pickup for the Jets adding a second quality receiver to keep opposing defenses on their toes and give Garret Wilson some breathing room.
Best part about signing Williams is he's pretty much the exact type of complementary receiver we need next to Wilson. Big body possession guy who excels at hauling in contested deep balls.
Brock Bowers could be a guy we focus in on if Joe Alt is gone I still want more OL help but man Bowers I hear is very good
My concern is that this opens up 10 for the infamous BPA approach when there's offensive studs everywhere.
Jets signed two of the best FA at the biggest positions of need. Say what you want about JD, no GM is perfect. He has had his flaws but that man knows whats on the line and he is delivering.
I think a trade down is now likely, especially if we can a second rounder in the deal. There will be an OT that might not be quite plug and play but might be ready a couple of months into the season, available later in the first, you can pick up an excellent receiver in the second, and use the third on a OG.
