I really like what the Eagles have done so far getting Saquan Barclay and Bryce Huff. Move the chains on offense and pressure opposing quarterback with thr pass rush to cut down on big plays. Eagles front office earning their paychecks.
Letting Huff leave is an issue. However, many issues preceded this one. They could have resigned him last year when he was already showing flashes of being a proven pass rusher. They drafted an unproven pass rusher(Will Mcdonald) when they already had a proven asset on the roster. They could have also traded him at the deadline for something of value instead of getting nothing back- but they thought they could make a run at 4-4. Poor long-term planning per usual. One of Joe Douglas's best moves as GM was finding Bryce Huff and letting the coaching staff develop him into the player he is today. Now that means absolutely nothing. Joe Douglas just sucks.
The good news is the OT, WR, and S markets are still almost fully intact. Still plenty of guys left for the Jets to sign.
Yeah, I'll take inactivity any day over the two guys you mention-- then add in $100M in bad contracts by Douglas to CJ Uzomah, Laken Tomlinson, Carl Lawson, and Duane Brown. I realize Brown was not a March signing, but Joe Douglas has a track record of wasting HUGE amounts of money on scrub free agents. Maybe Woody has told Douglas he is tired of it.
Aaron Jones getting released probably creates the serious domino concern that like Cook last year we now have to budget in a chunk of money on another likely washed guy we don't really need. Man the Packers just can't stop screwing us over lol
Woody having a clue - that is a major stretch... The Jets are just their normal disaster area selves.
Speaking of a lot of money and the Packers, they just signed now former Giants S Xavier McKinney to a 4yr/68mil contract. DAMN that's a lot of money for a safety, yet alone a non star
I'm flat stunned at what some of these contracts look like. The Kirk Cousins one is just blowing me out the water. That guy has made more money, having never won anything, than any 2 guys I can think of in recent memory. Holy cow. THANKFULLY I haven't seen the, almost obligatory, signing of Bakhtari (sp). That dude should retire. Knowing JD the way we do, that means he's going to sign him to a 4 yr. $60 mill contract with $59 mil guaranteed. LOL! Of COURSE I'm only joking...or am I??
its easy to say that now but we were supposed to be super bowl contenders last year. it was all hands on deck.
Supposedly we haven’t even made an offer for that patriots guard. What r we doing? Also, I’m starting to think the plan was to let huff walk and get a comp pick, makes giving up picks in a trade more palatable. Question is who they trading for tho
Quiet day for the Pats with all that financial flexibility they have atm. Antonio Gibson is meh. Overpaid him.
