Rex Hogan long time assistant General Manager of the New York Jets has resigned. Is he in disagreement with the players Douglas or Rodgers is choosing? https://nypost.com/2024/01/31/sports/jets-part-ways-with-assistant-general-manager-rex-hogan/
Makes sense. Aaron Rogers is the GM and Joe Douglas is the assistant, so not enough room. But seriously, you miss on Zach Wilson, and someone has to go. Let alone Becton, Moore, Mims, etc. Glad they built a top 5 defense, but a historically bad O has repercussions.
Told you bitches. Fuck this guy. One of the biggest common denominators in systemic failure that is pervasive across the entire Jets organization. Career loser.
Speculation is that he’s the media leak, considering how positively he was evaluated in the press after his parting with the team. No mention of his failure to evaluate talent under a string of GMs.
Interesting…good connection between Mac’s generally poor drafts and JD’s generally poor free agent signings Maybe having Rex be the lead voice in those areas was a big part of the problem
Yeah it's not hard to connect the dots here. The front office didn't receive any heat in the Russini/Rosenblatt article, indicating the leaks likely came from someone in the front office. Rex Hogan parts ways with the team. All the reports of Rex's departure make sure to state how he's "widely respected" in the league. How could he possibly be widely respected? He's the single biggest common denominator of our run of ineptitude other than Woody. We've been largely terrible at drafting and FA acquisitions during Hogan's time here, two things he directly had a large hand in.
I think that absolves Douglas a bit too much. He got here in June of 2019 which is the same time we hired Douglas. Not saying he’s the reason why but for what it’s worth the Colts also had a pretty good draft in 2018 after he had been there a year.
