I mean sure, he didn't throw a pick- but he also walked himself into a sack and threw to a guy who was what, three yards in front of him (with a defender on him!) on 4th and 10...is there some sort of gateway to parallel universes on the sideline of MetLife, and Saleh is literally not watching the same game as us? Because at this point that seems like the most rational explanation.

JD needs to have Carson (or whoever else they can find now) on the red eye flight to NJ tonight. There is nothing more to see with Zach. Having Duane in the line up and ensuing terrible pass rush may have given false hope that Zach could be better. Today protection was good, and even these who had this hope including myself need to face the reality, and yes that includes you JD and Saleh. Time to pick up the phone and call Carson back.

 

Seriously- JD whiffed on a QB in the draft, which sucks, but it happens. It isn't fatal to your GM or coaching careers if you still put together a winning team- the 49ers fan base isn't calling for the heads of their management despite whiffing badly on Trey Lance (and giving up three first round picks to do it!). What is fatal to your GM or coaching career is refusing to admit that you whiffed on the QB and trotting him out there when everyone can see the guy can't hack it...and then trying to gaslight the fanbase by saying that he played "fine."

 

The Cardinals start a hairless nobody QB that they traded for weeks ago... and soundly beat the Cowboys.
