6 years ago when my son was born, they had to keep him an extra day in an incubator because he had jaundice. At the time the hospital wouldn't let us stay overnight so we had to go home. We were both devastated as we didn't want to leave him. Who wants to leave the hospital for the first time being a parent without their baby. All our family members said go home enjoy your night sleep because your lives will never be the same. That was the last time I had a good night sleep. PS. He was born the weekend of the out of bounds end zone fumble against the Patriots. He will never be a Jets fan.
Congrats. Most have been there. Expect the best, plan for the worst. Never let them see you sweating or planning for the worst. Positive vibes matter. Also - let him choose his football team. I feel guilty for passing down the Jets to mine.
Thanks for all your well wishes. He is officially good to go for blood sugar and off his IV. Now he's in the incubator for jaundice and hopefully his levels will be good to go tomorrow. Then he can home and meet his big sister and the dogs. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk
Congratulations! My son was born slightly jaundiced. Had to return to hospital for 3 days for feedings. This is in 1987. One day between feedings, we took in a movie, Ishtar. I think my wife and I are the only two people who found that movie funny. Anyway everything turned out well.
Thanks again for all your well wishes and concern over his physical health and eventual decline on mental health due to making him a Jets fan. It's official, we are going home in about an hour. Just need to print out his paperwork, go over some stuff with the nurse, and I have to run into the pouring rain to get the minivan. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk
Prayers are with you, your wife and child. He will be fine. Keep the faith. He will be breathing comfortable and much better than Jet fans hyperventilating while watching the game tomorrow.
