You'd have to give up a 2nd rounder for him, and I would definitely do that. SD doesn't need to get rid of him, and if we just sign him to an offer sheet, we'd be forced to give up a 1st rounder. There's no way you trade a 1st rounder for a RB like Turner. I would be willing to trade a 2nd rounder though.
Wow, I wish I knew them as closely as you. How can you be so sure, Seattle traded a number 1 for deion branch. Never say never. If we do do this, then that means rb is on the top of our list, they must think turner is better then every rookie back coming out. ( That we would have a chance at, peterson, lynch out of the question)
For the record Jesse Chatman was LT's backup in 2004 and posted the same beast like numbers: 65 carries, 392 yards, 6.1 yards per carry, 3 tds. He now is on the Saints practice squad I believe. I absolutely think LT is a future hall of famer, but to some point I think it has to be San Diego's system a little bit. Derrick Blaylock was the same way with the Chiefs system, and how did that work out? That being said, I also like The Burner and wanted the Jets to draft him a few years back, but I would be very upset if we gave up a 1st rounder for a guy we couldve had in the 5th round a few years back
Turner has never worked in this offense. Schottenheimer coached the QUARTERBACKS in San Diego and that's it. Cameron has worked the offense almost his whole tenure in San Diego which is longer then Schottenheimer's. People need to stop making this mistake. The only relationship they could have as far as football goes, is Schottenheimer seeing him against second teamers every day in practice.
Comments like this are stupid. Jordan is a good back, and he would have displayed that in just about any other team. If you looked at the situation in Oakland compared to what he used to have with us, you could see an extreme diffrence. How far do you expect LT to go if he was running into a brickwall every time he got to the line of scrimmage? Not very... Oakland O-Line: Coutney Anderson-TE Robert Gallery-LT Barry Sims-LG Jake Grove-C Kevin Boothe-RG Langston Walker-RT I bet you have never heard of ANY of those guys except for maybe, Gallery. Gallery was a bust, and is the ONLY reason he is somewhat known. What is Jordan supposed to do? Honestly... He got hurt this last season for a reason.. Jordan is easily a 1200yd rusher, and 400+yds receiving with a good line. Hell throw him a bone, and give him atleast a DECENT line. We are establishing a good/great line for the next several years. We have the right plan, and it is only a matter of time. If Turner came here (For the right price)he would be walking into a WAY better situation then what was offered to Jordan. No question... fftopic: I read this, and had to put it somewhere. I often visit other teams boards, and I was really curious to see how disapointed they were with their line. Instead all I read was how their RB (Jordan) is shit, and if they draft A.Peterson ALL their problems will just vanish. I swear tooooooo god....
..and D.Branch had "proven/accomplished" enough in this league to warrant such a price. Turner.... Not so much.... Turner should be a good one, but he is not 1st round worthy in the least. RB is kinda weak this year, and Turner IS in a lot of views the "best" choice. Not necessarily the safe choice at that price though...
We shouldnt waste the time or the money on turner. We should draft marshawn lynch Kenny Irons Adrian Peterson(if he comes out) or my boy Tony hunt from PSU
No way you give up a 1st rounder for Turner. I'd much rather use a 1st rounder on Lynch or a 2nd rounder on Bush.
I second that. I cant wait to bring up all these anti- Turner posts a year from now when he is a beast from the east (rutherford)
but who could we get with that 1st rd pick at 25 that would have as much an impact as Turner? Def not another rb.
...anybody remember a guy named Justin McCairins that was another up and coming player that we gave up a second round pick for? I do, and there is no way in hell we should give up a first or second for Turner. I remember the spin at the time was JMac was 'better than any WR we could get in the 2nd round'. Yeah right... If this management team was not in place I would be very worried.
Another good argument against Michael Turner. Did anyone see that run? He had six feet of space to run through. He could've crypt walked through there, yet he's going to get all the credit in the world for being an amazing athlete because of that nice seventeen yard run.
If Bush or Lynch drops to us with either the 1st round pick, or the 1st 2nd round pick, then no. I'd give up one of the 2nd rounders for him though if no RB is available through the draft.
