it is a moot point because the Cowboys GM was smart enough to take a chance at upgrading backup QB and the Jets GM wasn't. But Lance has played 4 games, Wilson almost 20 more, so I'm not sure why you are so strongly convinced. with Lance's small sample size you have to rely on evaluation skills and you are not very good at evaluating players
I disagree. I don't care if our defense is the 80's Bears, 70's Steelers or Ravens...combined!! No defense is going to win 8 games for us. Our offensive weapons are only as good as the QB getting the ball to them. Teams will stack the line and remove Hall and Cook from the equation and then it's lights out. Keep in mind, we should have LOST that game last night. ONE less interception and we do. We aren't getting 4 or 5 turnovers every game and the Bills offense isn't the best one we'll see. I'll say this ONE more time...if last night is what we can expect from Zach Wilson then this team is a 2 or 3, MAYBE 4, win team and THAT number, my dear friends, ensures we do not sniff the top two QB's in next year's draft...which is where my attention is now focused. I have ZERO faith in Zach Wilson or any other scrub they bring in. This team did not plan for the worst case scenario which is what always seems to happen to this team so it SHOULD have been on their radar. In fact, I think I have negative faith in Wilson and zero faith in whatever scrub, who couldn't win a starting job, they bring in.
thats a poor comment considering rodgers > dak and wilson > lance. our GM put together a better QB room. trading for lance would have been dumb since we weren't carrying 3QBs. no team really does and zach was a top tier backup. now he's a bottom tier starter due to injury
The 49ers are working out Ian Book. He was great in college at throwing 4 yard passes. Could be just what the doctor ordered.
On Oct 29th the Bears will be eliminated from playoff contention and will be done with Justin Fields and preparing to get a new QB in next years draft. Jets will still have hope, gutting through a few more close games on the back of their defense, but will be done with ZW or whichever scrub they got to back him up / compete with him. Fields already knows the "playbook" which is written on a napkin and says "run for your life when the OL can't block and throw an occasional pass to your stud WR1"... ...trade then Championship.
Didn't Cooper Rush start 5-0 with the Cowboys? That team is loaded with talent like ours, I bet the price wouldn't be steep for him either. He can game manage.
Its a little late to be shopping for a backup QB. They'd have to learn our offense and develop chemistry with our wideouts, behind a terrible o-line. Its Zach and Boyle for the immediate future, and unlikely we find someone who will be able to do much better.
