Respectfully disagree. Hackett and the rest of the Jets FO and CS need to focus on winning football games not developing Zach, otherwise why in tarnation did we bring Rodgers here. There's the old expression about leading a horse to water. Wilson has been exposed to the NFL for two years. He's seen great QBs, good QBs and bad QBs. By now he must know what it takes to become a top QB in the league. The onus is on him to process that and execute on the field. Now, it may be that Wilson needs more time to develop (experts say it takes 4 years) and I'm cool with that if the Jets hadn't gone after Rodgers. Now, there is an urgency to win football games. From what I saw last year and in preseason this year, I don't think Wilson can deliver the goods if Rodgers goes down. Not that enthusiastic about Boyle either, but after Sat. I'd be more comfortable with him relieving Rodgers than Wilson.
What's Zach playing the scout team QB role got to do with winning? Besides it doesn't matter what you or I think. The Jets are going to do what's best for their present and future, and that's keeping Zach as the backup QB. Thankfully, they obviously see things very different from you.
Oh but you're the expert, huh? Dude, you really need to get over yourself. You're not the football savant you think you are speaking in such absolutes as if your word were the final word and you were the only knowledgeable poster here.
It figures this would be your take. Yeah, it makes a sense to bring back a QB that divided the lockerroom last year. Guy, your takes are absurd.
never said I was, just playing the odds here. every year we hear how some late round pick is gonna take over and 99% of the time it's wrong. fan bases all of them tend to have an underdog UDFA they love but rarely do those players last. I'm not saying i'm always right, but I am right a lot more then i'm wrong. but it's not about me here, it's about a random UDFA player you think is going to be good the next 5-10 years but statistically speaking they are likely out of the league before that, and you sure are wrong on many of them lol. weren't you just clamoring for bam and he got cut today lol he didn't divide the locker room. he was good and players rallied behind him. this is a different situation this year. it's rodgers locker room and nobody will take that away. huge difference playing behind a young struggling QB then it is playing behind a HOF QB
Didn't Sam get the same shameful treatment (maybe worst), yet he was judged differently? And I like to remind you and the believers that Sam threw the same pass ZW did in his proday against the 49ners in and NFL game that went for a TD...but what the hell he sucks right? Yet he just won the niners Q2 spot.... Look NC, I get it, you and CC as well as others, believe, I don't anymore Zach Wilson, before the Giants game was last in the league in air yards per attempt through preseason. Its wonderful he is compiling 66% passing abeit if only for 5.(?)... against second and third stringers... playing in their base defense, but that only counts as “improvement” when you’re measuring Zach Wilson vs Zach Wilson. That is the measurement that you all use... I don't and will not. Listen, I want the JETS to win as much as anyone who posts here. BUt frankly, I don't give a rats ass about a possible - repeat possible - F QB much less a comptent NFL starter... Win games get to the post season and let the chips fall where they may... For CC.... One more point, CC in one of your posts you say he is not a "third year man" but a rookie... I say baloney. He maybe being retrained but he also is not a rookie and has started, I think 20 NFL games, and all of this year's PS games. So please, lets be honest, he is not a rookie.
I don’t really know what you guys are watching. He’s having trouble leading touchdown drives in the preseason against backups. Forget moving up and down the field with ease, he isn’t even getting us into the red zone. The comparisons of HOF quarterbacks in preseason is silly. I dunno how dog shit of a coach he actually is. He might be, but I don’t think it’s a completely fair analysis given his QB.
Sam got similar treatment for certain, but imo Sam should have never been drafted. He had a great freshman year (played over his head), then reverted to form his sophomore season. He had not been playing the QB position long enough to have been drafted as high as he was. Zach was a much more talented and polished prospect. There are other differences but they don't matter, and neither does a pass thrown on their Pro Day. That's in the past. It's fine that you don't believe any more. I'm sorry that you've joined the other side of the issue, but that's your choice and I respect it. Zach also played against some 1st stringers in preseason. Regadless, I don't put any importance into preseason game stats, especially when it's clear that he is being developed in a specific way and they are working on rebuilding his foundation. They were just getting him meaningful game reps, and it wasn't about how many yards per completion or how many TD passes he threw. By the end of last season Zach had regressed badly from the time he was drafted. His confidence was shot, and he needed a total reset. That's what he's getting this season. I didn't say that he's a rookie, just that for all intents and purposes, he's a rookie, because they're going back to square 1 to develop him. There were things he never learned at BYU and that he was never taught here under MLF and Saleh. Yes he has experience playing in the NFL and that both helps and hurts. It hurts because he developed some bad habits and was probably scarred from playing behind such an awful OL and with little talent around him his rookie season. You may not care about a potential FQB this season but in a year or two, three at the outside, you will.
Dowell Loggains, Adam Gase, Niners and Sam R .in a good place Zach's muffin' MILFs who R .horny as sin, but the game still appears too fast for him.. https://media.giphy.com/media/5Hu1o7Mp8W4d4ygZTG/giphy.gif .
*insert 5 paragraph response about how you’re blinded by hatred, don’t know ball, the coaching staff let him down, WRs ran the wrong routes, 66% comp vs backups is good*
Of course calling another poster here "blind" is an insult, there's no way around that it is a personal attack. When are you going to stop psychoanalyzing every poster who does not agree with you and just accept that they don't? You can't wake other posters up to your "reality" no matter how many hoops you jump through. Wilson's production, or lack of same, speaks for itself. If the day ever comes that you have been forecasting forever that he becomes a serviceable quarterback, we'll all know it and celebrate it but for now that's fantasy, not reality.
Nobody divides a locker room by turning in a better performance than was seen all year. You're really not trying to say that Mike White did anything to mess with the team dynamic other than playing the best game he could, are you?
White divided this message board maybe, not the locker room. The players clearly knew he was better than Wilson
