Apparently, the pick swap from 13-15 is equivalent to a third-round pick. So we gave up a 2nd, 3rd, and a 1st next year(He is playing 65% of snaps) This deal favors the Packers, but I am OK with it. We got Aaron Rodgers-Lets go!!!!!!
He definitely did. Woody is the team's biggest impediment to winning a championship (and has been for 20 years).
For a veteran QB...coming 1 year off from a MVP. Lets have some faith he does well and we are going all out. I think we also still get a tackle at #15
There's 53 pieces in play....He can play great, yet they still can be one-and done.... My issue with this deal is the 65%.... That pick should be based on WINNING, or at least playing multiple seasons.
So to recap: Douglas caved on the 1st round pick swap this year Douglas caved on the conditional 1st next year (65% of snaps is a joke of a condition that will easily be met) Douglas caved on having GB include a conditional pick in 2025 to protect against Rodgers only playing one season. WHILE BEING THE ONLY TEAM IN THE LEAGUE WHO EVEN WANTS RODGERS.
Let's call it a 4th, since we did get a 5th for 6th swap and we will remove the condition that Rodgers will meet. So, high 2nd, 1st, high 4th for Rodgers. Plus we are paying 60 mil this year salary and 50 mil next year if he wants. That is fucking rough - considering he said he wasn't going anywhere else and GB wasn't writing 60 mil check this year.
"The trade will be submitted to the league office in "a day or two," Pelissero reported on Monday. Rodgers will sign a revised contract with Green Bay to facilitate the trade." we'll see
I like everything but the conditions on next year's pick. The Jets also moved up from 207 to 170. While not the headline, it's still a decent move up. I wonder what this means for Corey Davis. I'm sure he's being shopped. A 5th possibly?
Folks, you need to understand what "revised" means. It means we are spreading the same guaranteed amount of 110 mil over multiple years for CAP purposes. He is still getting his 60 mil check in September and CAP will still count the same, but spread over more years.
This looks like the Jets caving. This seems like a lot! Didn’t even insure against him deciding to retire next year? I mean I watch Packers games last year and he seemed uninterested. Maybe it was his aloof personality. All this for a rental of a guy pushing 40. Just seems….I hope this works out cause….
We have more than enough holes to fill that I don't think it really matters. I think we still end up taking the best tackle left on our board. It does effectively eliminate getting JSN though since GB would be crazy to pass on him.
