Now we fall two picks back right behind New England. I hope we can still get one of those top OL prospects.
Folded like a lawn chair is more like it. I wonder if Woody said to make this happen no matter the cost.
Well, we finally have a pretty young solid core acquired through the draft. Instead of continuing going in that direction, we just gave up a whole bunch of draft picks for a veteran QB.
I am sorry to say, but JD was had on this one. I mean GB wasn't going to pay him 60 mil check. Wait until the fucking draft if they are not giving in.
Nope. We have up a second and a first. The pick swap this year is a minor detail. The only way we don’t give up a first is if he only plays 65% of the plays this year. Then we give up a second instead. Horrible deal.
The condition on that 1st is pretty weak for us. 65% of snaps? How do you not at least get that to be the Jets making the playoffs?
If the Jets are losing at mid-season we'll have a real conundrum. JD and Saleh will want Rodgers to play to try to protect their jobs and everybody else will want ZW to protect us from giving up a high 1st in 2024. This deal absolutely requires the Jets to get off to a good start and avoid the injury bug or it will create unimaginable pressures on the franchise. Like I said: a Woody special.
pretty depressing that we've been such a disaster of a franchise that all we can hope for is a 40 year old (in dec) QB if only we could develop a QB and enjoy stability not having to give up picks for 1 or 2 year rentals.
I don't understand why Joe Douglas caved so badly. This trade is so fucking disappointing after the stalemate of the last 6 weeks.
Maybe Jets go 15-2 and Rodgers plays 62% of plays while we blow out teams so he rests and we ride our way to the Super Bowl Lol one can dream
Woody got his headliner.. That's all that matters. JD and Saleh better pray to God that Rodgers shows up and plays like a future HOF QB instead of a 40year old guy on his way to the rocking chair.
It's not minor at all. It could be the difference between having a top tackle prospect or second tier. There could be a QB at 13 and a team could give up an extra 1st rounder to move up there. The value chart says the swap is worth high 4th/low 3d. It's not minor at all. GB GM had his way with JD. Kudos to this fucking bustard for amazing bluff.
Don't like the conditional basis for next year's pick or the trading down this year, but at least it isn't a locked in 1st next year nor a 1st this year. Don't love the trade, but it could have been worse. And if he does play 65% of the snaps, it should be a pretty low 1st... Glad he's here, gives them a legit chance to contend in 2023 and hopefully 2024. Hah and Schefty broke the story!
