There's so much negativity in Jets land and I want to create a positive vision. JD makes a great deal and gets Aaron Rodgers. The Jets lose in the 2023 AFC conference title game and then win the SB in 2024 with AR as QB. During that time, a light goes on in Zach Wilson's head and he learns to play like an NFL QB with superior skills. AR retires and ZW takes over in 2025 and the Jets are legit SB contenders for the next 15 years.
This is what happens to long-term fans of weak franchises. It happens over and over again because all the franchise has is marketing and the next game marketing wins on an NFL field will be the first.
Even if a portion of that would materialize it would be a dream come true for very many Jet fans. God only knows that years of negativity driven by bad rosters has permeated the entire fan base, but I still contend this team is going in the right direction. The catalyst will be to find a long term solution at QB. If AR wins a SB with 12 in his back the curse will be finally lifted.
We are a bottom 5 fanbase, the negativity is nothing new. https://www.thrillist.com/amphtml/e...in-the-nfl-patriots-raiders-seahawks-and-jets https://bleacherreport.com/articles...ng-down-the-nfls-rudest-fan-bases?share=other https://www.latimes.com/sports/stor...e-most-miserable-nfl-fan-bases-we-ranked-them I don’t think any FAN who’s spent time on this or any message board disagrees.
A punch in the Jaw perhaps? How about bringing an assault rifle to the game? Foot fetish anyone? I could go on but you get the drift..
I am pretty certain the Packers leaked it. Because it sounds as if the Jets are holding up the deal now, which is not something the Jets would leak. I do think the offer is less. If the Jets are giving up #43, I think the next year's pick will not be 2nd at worst. They also made it sound like it can be a 1 easily. If JD did offer #43, then I think next year it could be a conditional 4th, which will be a second if we go to SB, something like that. And this offer is something JD can just hold until the draft. When the draft rolls around, when it gets real, when prospects are a phone call away, and GB can actually have some really good ones at #43 under cost control, they will accept this offer. Right now they can play tough, but when the draft rolls around, and they can get #43 plus some change for the guy they must get rid off to save 110 mil in two years, they will cave. JD just has to wait.
I hope you are right, and suspect that you are. Those leaked trade details would be a bad deal for the Jets. Patience is key here to get more of a reasonable Favre type deal.
If we get Rodgers who may retire next year it better not be for more than a 3rd round pick, right now we are bidding against ourselves. Taking Greenbays severe cap pick for what? For maybe a has been? We coulda had 10 years of Carr without giving up anything, we could give up substantial picks for Lamar who can be our quarterback for the next 15 years, why give up anything substantial for Brett Favrex2? This organization will never learn, go give up 2 draft picks for Lamar and forget about Rodgers unless Greenbay gives us Rodgers for a 3rd round pick, I rather roll the dice with Lamar than get 1 or 2 years of Rodgers and be using a number 1 pick on a Qb again in a year or 2 when he retires. Because we all know the Jets suck at drafting Qb's.
Well, it appears Zach Blatt wised up A LOT since the last trade proposal he posted, which is to give #13, another 1st rounder 2024 (if Jets make play offs), and Corey Davis for Arod and a 3d. A lot more reasonable now, but still too much. Hopefully 3d time will be the charm.
