Well then you should have told this forum about a week ago and saved some of the trouble and assumptions. Thanks. moving on to the next topic, getting a DT…who’s available
Sorry Mezzavo. I feel your pain, but there is no way in holly hell they would announce what is going on prior to dotting every freaking I and cross every T just to pacify the fans and provide clarity. Particularly not in NY and certainly not with AR and above all with the NY media feeding frenzy. Until is ratified, if something was to reverse itself, it would make the entire leadership look like a bunch of fools with legal implications to boot. The NYJ organization has the responsibility and duty to keep it under wraps until they nail it down before they can dream of making any kind of announcement. The rest of the league is doing the same thing. Is the freaking media that is leaking shit at the first incline of a move, right wrong or indifferent.
I highly doubt this silence is of the Jets doing. You think Woody doesn't want to show off his shiny new toy to try and pump up those season ticket/PSL sales? I have no idea why it hasn't been announced but I assuming (perhaps wrongfully so) that this isn't something the team wants but is just a necessary evil.
Call me crazy but I would be very happy with OBJ G.Wilson OBJ Moore Lazard +B.Hall +Conklin and Uzomah Sign me up. With our without Rodgers this is a crazy good offensive team
Just a reminder for all the worry-warts & Aaron haters... Jets Offense over the last ten seasons has ranked dead last in- -Points per game -Total yards per game -Yards per play -Red Zone TD% -Passer Rating
You are CRAZY. 1. OBJ will get hurt. 2. With zach wilson, that is NOT a great offense. 3. With Rogers, it could be.
Feels like we'll be priced-out on OBJ if he really wants 15-20M a year but a WR unit of: GW, Moore, Lazard, Cobb, & rookie draft pick, seems very good on paper to me.
I don't disagree and this is coming from a guy who's wanted Cobb on this team since he was a rookie. However, I bet you Cobb makes that catch in the EZ against the Vikings last year. I can picture worse options as our WR4/5 next year, which is definitely what Cobb would be.
I like those names you mentioned in the 3rd round. Tank Dell and one other guy you mentioned in this thread maybe. I forgot now. That receiver group looks good. But what would make it even better? A serious burner. Let's get one this draft class.
I can definitely see them grabbing one in the 4th round or later. Tank Dell, Tyler Scott (name from earlier), or Trey Palmer (4.33 40 at the combine) would be solid 4th round targets IMO, they might even go late 3rd. Here's an article with the fastest 40 times from the combine out of the WR class. I hope we grab 1 name from this list during the draft. If they wanted to wait even later, guys like Derius Davis or Bryce Wheaton-Ford could potentially be had in the 5th-6th round range. Wheaton-Ford is especially intriguing to me, guy ran a 4.38 40 at the combine at 6'3" 224lbs, he seems like the perfect late-round flier to be our WR5/6 for a couple of years while he develops some more.
I sure hope Rodgers is flexible about his "wish list". I don't want to see JD making changes to the roster out of Rodgers' demands rather than what's best for the team. Lazard might make sense. But Marcedes Lewis? Come on. JD had better feel really good about OBJ
Tyler Scott, thank you. Yeah that's a good list with the highest 40 times. I'm a big believer in production first, followed by combine measurables/stats. If I'm the Jets I look at burners, but mainly ones who were highly productive at the Power 5 college level. Like even that TCU All Big 12 special teams guy I just read on the link you provided. He took two back to the house last year. There should be a lot of talented guys still available in the 4th. They need to focus in on the ones who were the most highly productive in college. No project types (as much as a 4th rounder can't be considered a project)
I'm getting serious vibes that Rodgers doesn't want to play here, and he's dicking around hoping another team tries to trade for him.
