The score at halftime Al is: Circus - 10 and Superbowl - 0. Superbowl is going to have make some adjustments if they want this to become a game in the second half.
If Rodgers doesn't happen, I think the only 2 options left are swing big for Lamar or swing big on a trade up in the draft and try to get Levis or Richardson.
What really bothers me is this...... This team is stacked and the expectation is that we will draft even more impact players in the coming month. We are finally so close. If this Rodgers fiasco ultimately falls apart, Woody and co owe an explanation to the guys in the locker-room and the fanbase as to how they got suckered into to waiting for the leagues preeminent diva, narcissist, self-important douche (any and all apply re: Rodgers) and why they didn't have enough organizational pride to walk away and get the next best player available (probably Jimmy G). To let this (potentially) happen is beyond embarassing and only proves how inept this organization is from the top down. Plain and simple.
The Jets have enough talent to be a playoff team now, but with mediocre to bad quarterback play it's just going to be another long season.
Just crazy to me that we’re here We’ve now lost out on Carr and Jimmy G, both of whom were good (maybe not great) options but regardless both would have been huge upgrades for us. You can also argue that any of Bridgewater, Minshew, Brissett, Dalton, and the like would also be huge upgrades, and they would be, but all of these names would not bring any real excitement, they wouldn’t sell tickets, and would be looked at as absolute failures on the team. Honestly, I’d have preferred to roll with Mike White. Lamar is really the only other option that would bring legitimate excitement, but man that cost in picks and salary along with his injury history is enough for me to say no thanks So if AR doesn’t work out, I don’t know how JD and Woody save face. There are no other really good options, just some meh options like trading for Tannehill or Stafford… And we did this to ourselves…if the issue is truly waiting on AR, we should have given a noon deadline and then jumped all over other options.
Relax people... I never wanted AR, but it seems to me that today is Monday. IIRC, AR announced his extension last season on McAfee. Isn't McAfee on Tuesday's? So, I suspect AR will earn his McAfee pay by announcing his decision tomorrow, on his show. The key is, whatever you think of AR, he has no logical reason to f*ck the Jets. If he wasn't gonna sign, he'd have let the Jets know by now. If he doesn't announce today, or on McAfee, it's pretty clear to me that it's the Packers trying to play hardball with the Jets, trying to get more than what's been offered. And depending upon who the Jets end up with, the smell of Woody is all over this soap opera. .
I was in on Minshew but after seeing his two starts with the eagles last year - no thanks. He's not the answer. He's a career backup at this point.
For the most part I agree, but I would have set the deadline sooner, at least for him to say he wanted to come here (again, maybe he has said as much to the team but it doesn’t look like it). As soon as he cost us any chance at Carr this started to look like a mess.
I was going to say Im getting worried - the situation is rapidly moving towards the biggest dumpster fire I've seen for the Jets (I don't have the gif) - but then again I've been a Jets fan for 35+ years so what's new. Very soon I'll be joining the 'please bloody sell up Woody - you are actually sending fans to early graves' camp soon - unless I'm mightily surprised by forthcoming events. Good take. But packers also want to know what he's doing, and the framework is supposedly done. I don't think the Jets let MW walk or not try for JG without knowing AR is coming. They all know, and just waiting on tomorrow's show.
