Butt out, Bam Bam unless you have something to add to the topic. For a guy who claims to have me on ignore you do an awful lot of chirping about my posts.
I agree completely but who cares what a failed prospect here does if he goes somewhere else? Unless, of course, he then succeeds.
I was just pointing out that there is no TEAM in Aaron Rodgers. Took a huge contract that forced his best asset out of town and then the team collapsed. Exactly the guy we should bring to NY to fix the Jets.
damn voice typing…pickings… lol Though we wait Rodgers out we might have to actually go find a Mr. Slim Pickens to be our QB.
yeah I dont think it is good for a young team to play with a prick like that, he will set a bad example here
What if it means trading two 1st round picks, which is what is being talked about in the press? Oh, and possibly upwards of 50 M for each of two years remaining in his contract. Personally, I am no where near being on board with that deal.
You think? He strikes me as a guy that doesn't give a shit what the liberal left has to say. Personally all I care about is winning but some here care about his politics. #sad
I don't think he gives a shit what anyone has to say-- left, right, or whoever. In fact, I think he likes to ruffle feathers more than anything else. But--are you implying his politics are right-wing/conservative? He's anti-vax--and misled his teammates about it, which was kind of gross-- but he's also on record as being a big Obama supporter, and being pro-choice. Probably falls to the "left" of most football players on those opinions. I'd prefer him not come here because of age/performance and locker-room reasons.
Age: Brady won a championship older than Rodgers. These are a different NFL where the QB is more protected. Performance: One year removed from consecutive MVP's and played with a busted thumb last season. Locker Room: Everyone who has played with Rodgers likes him as far as anyone can tell, not sure what your getting at there. Adams is recruiting him to Vegas.
Brady is a freak and an outlier. Who knows what AR would give us at 39 years old (40 if we make the playoffs ;-) ), maybe a great year, but it's a huge risk, and what about the year after that? Do we hand over a king's ransom of draft picks and $ for that? And then start at square 1 again at QB? Regarding locker room, my fear is he comes in as a mercenary, DGAF about the franchise, really, or about mentoring younger players. He seems like an all-about-me guy at this stage of his career. But I could be wrong there.
I'm willing to risk it for the biscuit. I truly believe if he comes here his ego will drive him to try for another MVP and finish what Favre couldn't. 2nd this year and a 1st next year contingent only if he is on the roster and took us deep in the playoffs otherwise it drops to a 3rd.
Rodgers said he is going on a 4 day darkness retreat a week or two after The Super Bowl to help decide what he wants to do with his future. I love Rodgers as a QB and would be happy with him on the Jets, but I do wonder how long the Jets can wait for him to make up his mind? Same with the Packers. That is probably why they are fine moving on with Jordan Love. They at least have Love though. At the minimum, the Jets will have to let Carr walk if they are waiting for Rodgers. They risk losing every QB option if they have to wait even longer on a decision. It's tough. Not only that, he could choose retirement or the Packers anyway, so you lose out on Rodgers no matter what. Very risky scenario waiting on him to choose.
I have been in the front seat of the Rodgers bandwagon but have said from the beginning that if it means waiting for weeks and losing out on all other options I'm out. You have to think Carr, Jimmy G etc.. are all with new teams in the next 2 weeks.
