If Aaron Rodgers was our QB this past season, what is our record in these games: NE x2 Minnesota Detroit Jax Seattle 2nd Miami game We went 0-7 with Wilson and White. I say we go 6-1 giving us a 13-4 record. How you like 'dem apples!
Spot on. You normally see 2-15 or 3-14 with the type of qb play we saw last year. We legitimately had the 33rd ranked qb play in the league. Do some people forget the league only has 32 teams?
Haha, well done! Holy hell, remember all of that? Great lesson you give here. However, it's different because of the player. I wasn't one drooling over Nmandi, who may as well have been Tony Mandarich. F'in Nmandi....
Well the Jets did finish 3 games out of the playoffs. With 7 teams making it now The Chiefs, Bills, and Bengals have all world weapons on offense that the Jets don't have (Chase, Kelce, Diggs), plus they have some great, consistent players on their defenses. Lets give some respect to those teams, maybe we can get there someday but it seems silly to say Aaron Rodgers would instantly push the Jets over them, especially when Rodgers himself has struggled in the playoffs for the past decade
Garrett Wilson put up great numbers with the worst QB in the league. Breece Hall is as good as any RB those teams have. The Jets defense is better than the Bengals and the Chiefs and on par with Buffalo. What we are missing is a QB.
When you lose 6 games straight and can't convert in the redzone you have major issues at QB. With Rodgers there is no 6-game skid. There is more likely an 11-6 maybe 12-5 record, home field in the playoffs and the best shot to beat KC or Cinci and advance to the Dance.
Decidedly no. Rogers is an all time great but his time is over. I would rather the Jets worked out how pick and nurture a young QB than hire in a merc who might get us to the holy lands of the play offs and tank. Who remembers the Favre debacle? wasted season
Thanks Look, there is always room for improvement in other areas but QB is by far the most glaring need. Guys like Nagle just want to be negative because it gets attention. He spent all season tagging on Wilson (rightfully so) but doesn't see how a guy like Rodgers would have equated to at least 5 more wins and I'm being generous.
Not to mention great QBs make elite players by elevating their play and all the players around them. Not to mention attract good players in FA. Get Rogers and draft a QB in the middle rounds if you want to nurture them, this team was built to win now with our nurtured QB Wilson but it didn't work l, the team is ready but the QB isn't so you go get one that is before you have to pay all this young talent in a couple of years.
Yes I am well aware of the history but that does not excuse hiring a guy on a one year or bust adventure. If the Jets cant get any better at developing and nurturing talent it's pointless. I will never respect or root for a team that brings in mercs just to get that bit closer
you aren't the GM so you aren't giving up anything lol. The reality is, finding a good QB is hard. we have all the other pieces. he's worth a 1st because we are instantly a SB contender with him. that 1st round pick doesn't make us that
I just want to win, I don't care about anything else. Think Rams and Bucs fans don't respect their teams because they won a superbowl with mercs lol.
11-6 woulda sent us to Jacksonville and then Kansas City. Not sure the homefield advantage thing computes
I think anyone that believes we are one player away - one QB away from winning a Super Bowl has a delusional mentality. Weird. What metrics are you using to conclude our roster Is on par or better than theirs? Curious. Are you saying our roster on offense Is better than those teams, outside of QB?
Those teams have better depth and complimentary pieces. They have more production from the guys that aren't the main stars of those offenses. Complimentary players that enhance their star players further. It matters. We need to be better In several areas still.
Here are 7 games we lost: NE x2 Minnesota Detroit Jax Seattle Miami 2nd game How many of those losses would you pin on the QB play? How many of those games do we win with Rodgers at QB? Time to nut up and take a position.
