Everyone knows the scheme and to many plays where the schemed plays make no sense. MLF has to go and go back to San Fran and get a little more seasoned.
Bringing back Zach Wilson is going to piss off all the WRs who Wilson has missed with his wild throws. Mims and Moore both asked to be traded last year for different reasons, and Garrett Wilson has NO love for Zach Wilson, even as a backup--It has been explained multiple times and in multiple places. Did you even watch Zach sail TWO different passes over wide open receivers 10 yards over the middle against NE last year (apparently you live there)? One was easily intercepted, the other was dropped by the NE DB. If they designate him as a post june 1 cut, it lessens the cap hit. Even if they don't, cutting Zach is worth the cap hit because he stinks, takes no responsibility for his failures, and was the worst ranked QB in the league last year--It has been explained multiple times and in multiple places.
Woody is 100% bringing back Zack Wilson next year, the only question is if he is a starter or backup.
No, it isn’t worth the cap hit. They don’t have an infinite amount of money to spend this year and they have a lot of holes on the roster to fill. They cannot afford to just piss away money Willy nilly. Like him or not, he’s not going anywhere
To put this late season implosion into proper context, the '96 Rich Kotite 1-15 Jets finished the season with 7 consecutive losses, averaging 19 points per game on offense. This team lost 6 consecutive games to end the season and averaged 11 ppg offensively. This is some next level futility for a franchise which is no stranger to being bottom-feeder material on a consistent basis. Only an offense this shitty would even consider keeping a Browning Nagle type QB, who in two seasons, has shown nothing to justify even being on an NFL roster. So it's better to keep Zach, pay him and have him contribute nothing, than instead to cut Zach, pay him and replace him with a low salary player who is not damaged goods and could contribute something? For any other team, this would not even be a discussion. Since the Zach investment has turned out to be a complete clusterfuck up, best to move on from it sooner than later, regardless of salary cap implications. Makes little sense keeping any player on the roster who is just taking up space and has nothing of value to contribute. And by the way, big props to the genius who decided to give Zach a guaranteed deal. Hope they at least got a kickback from the deal.
What does that have to do with anything? What teams has as much to deal with injury wise and still has a high functioning offense was the debate. Geno had an amazing line and I believe the worst injury that Seattle had was Jamal Adams. Remember him? Their OL and major offensive weapons remained In tact. The Panthers had a lot of injuries on their OL as well. They also dealt with a QB carousel. We did better than them In just about every way. They did not have the same issues as us and achieve more than us. So, no, those teams do not work. It's not about the QB position specifically. It's about the offense and team and the pieces this CS were left with a long the way.
Great post. In addition to all the compelling reasons you mention, we can add in the fact that Zach is not liked by his teammates. I really think the other skill players on offense would be more energized next year without Zach, his $35M guaranteed, and his million excuses about why he takes no blame, even being around.
Hey, I'm good; you're the guy complaining about a personal problem - no need for the "we" when not all of us have your ailment. Now, about that JetBlue comment...?
I was joking about Blue Balls ..and you obviously are sensitive about a "personal problem" ,,too funny You need to relax Kiddo
Truth be told..the only way ZW could start to get better is by taking ADD medicine (Adderal or Vyvanse) because his focus problem has been deviously covered up Hmm..I wonder if Johnson & Johnson can help get that product
Zach's biggest problem is when he makes a mistake it gets compounded. That is usually brought on by bad coaching. First Pats game he was rolling throws the pick and all downhill.
