Lol, yea sign Sam Darnold. Crazy right? Borderline mentally Ill to suggest. I haven’t started a new thread in like 35 years. Sign. Sam. Darnold. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It'll never happen for a variety of reasons, of course, but worth mentioning... if Darnold was on a different team to start his career, but went through the same struggles before entering FA this offseason, he'd definitely have a contingent of posters clamoring to sign him this offseason.
It’ll more than likely never happen, but I’d be interested to see what Darnold could do with this team I’d love to see rookie and second year Darnold with this team. He improved in his second year, but the Jets refused to put any legitimate talent around him. Whose to say he doesn’t develop into a legitimate QB with the jets current personnel Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We can do that too. Everything is on the table. But it takes guys time to figure things out right? Look at Darnolds last 6 games. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
One of the worst calls this team ever made was to ditch Darnold and draft Wilson in a year in which the Niners were willing to give up 3 first round picks to move up to draft Trey Lance - if darnold never improved then could've cut him this year and had all the draft stock necessary to move up to get Young or Stroud
looking back at this I thought it was the right call at the time. Boy was I wrong ZW isn’t even average. We should of kept Sam and just got a better backup QB not named Sleepy Joe
I was in the distinct minority who said keep Sam and trade the pick or take Chase or Pitts. Can we somehow find the polls from 2021 pre-draft about taking a QB or keeping Sam ?
You DO NOT OVERDRAFT if you aren't sure about the QB. You trade the pick ESPECIALLY if another team is willing to give you a haul. The Jets were NOT sold on Zach Wilson because it took them MONTHS to formally declare they'd be trading him. Do you think that would be the case if they were drafting #1 and had the chance to take Trevor Lawrence ? Sam Darnold would have been traded MONTHS before the 2021 Draft.
I would be intrigued to see what Sam could do but it's not happening. They didn't HAVE to move him they could have let Darnold and Wilson compete. They made their choice. Can't go back to the well. IF they did and he came here and still sucked this front office would be even more of an absolute laughing stock around the league
Darnold isn't the answer for us and wouldn't want to come back here anyway. But he is looking like he was worth what Carolina gave us.
No thanks. mind u we are still in regular season, my early read on the QB is Carr. I would give white a proposal but its won't be starter money - especially if the fins game is of similar style. I I have no problem going in 23 with Carr, white, and Wilson.
