Well a Robert Frost line from his poem "Snow" comes to mind: "Things must come in front of us many a time...a thousand or more may be too few". Meaning we all learn at different rates, and in different subjects. No I'm not advocating giving Zach a "thousand or more" chances, but more than less than a season a year or two more than his 23 years of age. And it would help to have a solid OL and more reliable receivers (with the exception of GW).
If you watch him when he said the guys in the lockerroom, he looked down very very slightly and there was an even slighter hesitation. I believe he lost some guys, but in any situation like that you also have people who will help you and mentor you, give you tough love and encourage you. He may have some, but not everyone is cold and heartless and will leave him out to dry. So my take is that he's had a rough go of it, he's had some love here and there, and that he was saying the right thing that he needed to say. That's what we fried him for last time right?
I guess I should've included a "/S" at the end of the lockeroom statement. But the way Zach Haters were talking for the past few weeks was that Zach had completely lost the L.R. and was being treated like a leper by his teammates and it was just one more "good" reason we ought ship his ass out for a package of twinkies and anything else we could get. Is he beloved like "Mike Fuckin' White"? No, but then again a lot of successful QBs wouldn't win popularity contests. I think a few guys were upset at his comments after the second NE game, but eventually put them in perspective, and Zach seems to have learned some lessons from it. The more important lessons are did he fix his mechanics and work on reading defenses?
This is going to be tricky. MW becomes a free agent in 2023. If he does well and stays healthy the rest of the season are the Jets ready to get in a bidding war for his services.
mikewhite is Jets good, but is barely NFL average. There's a chasm between Jets good and NFL good. I guess he might get a couple nibbles as a backup.
I think your mistaken here. He is a media darling ATM, and basically on the same trajectory that Garrappolo had with the Pats. These are QB crazy times. The skins signed Carson friggin Wentz for 27 million a year. The more success White has these last few games the more money he is going to command.
Unfortunately sometimes our make shift OL doesn’t get the memo. But then again they sometimes don’t get the memo to pass block either,
Man, Brock Purdy is already better than Wilson. More than TDs than Wilson all year so far. Come on my guy! 1+1 = 2, let's not forget. haha.
Brock freaking Purdy has looked better than Zach. All Zach had to do was be humble and work harder than everyone else. Instead, he decided to do the exact opposite. He can't complete short passes, mid range passes but occasionally hits a long one. As crazy as this sounds, if White ends up being the QB he really bailed out JD. We had several trade back options and looking at how Fields is playing yet we took the guy from the TV show MILF Mansion
