"He throws the ball kind of soft. I was kind of timid a couple times to go after it. I knew if he kept throwing it out there, I was going to get it. When I caught it and I looked, I expected someone to be there in my face and once I kept running I saw that there was no one there and I just kept running." now we know what the cornerbacks out there think when they get a chance to play pennington
Are you suggesting we bench him or something because of Asante Samuel's opinion? Penninton throws a touch pass which has been pretty successful this year. If it was such an easy pass to intercept then why did Samuel get his only interception in garbage time when he knew the Jets were throwing. You would think that he may have picked off one of those "soft" throws earlier in the game when it mattered a little more.
I guess you didn't see him hit Cotchery 25 yards on a rope, allowing him to make a play. Pennington's passes are thrown with touch, but that doesn't mean he can't throw a strike in there.
I can't believe some people want Asante Samuel on this team. Patriots make me sick, and this goes from the front office to the coaching staff to bums that are getting their 15 seconds of fame like this lame duck. He'll bolt to some other place ASAP and won't be worth the contract he's getting.
Yes, cornerbacks think the same thing that everybody else thinks of Chad: who knew? I bet they also think he's a good QB, because they know better.
i think we all get the message. its not the message that worries me. its the fact that opposing CBs actually KNOW they will make a play vs pennington and dont have to worry about getting beat deep
15 seconds of fame off a lame duck? He had his fame before the duck. He had a hell of a year. League leading 10 INTs. He also had a force fumble, which gives him one more turn over more than Champ Baily. He should've been a Pro Bowler. You'd be blessed to get him.
Pennington does have a weak arm. A painfully weak arm that often leaves me wondering if we'd be better off going in a different direction. But then again that weak arm put up 300 yards on Asante Samuel's secondary. So you take the good with the bad.
What is it with everyone crying about Penny's arm? If arm strength made good QBs, Boller, Vick, and Culpepper would be best QBs in the NFL.
Yes... Chad Pennington has a weak arm. Everyone knows that but who will replace him? Clemens? He probably has a better arm but can he handle the no huddles, play smart, lead an offense? We don't know. The point is there isn't many great QB out there. I think we can win a Super Bowl with Chad. I think we just need a more physical defense.
Yup, Our D was not even close to being title caliber. Next year we will get some big guns and it;s showtime.
You think I've been asleep all year? Deltha O'Neal got 10 INT's last season, the same bum that gets toast and got cut by the Denver Broncos. A misleading stat, a fortunate season. Asante Samuel is simply not that good to warrant the money he'll be looking for this off-season and I'm positive we won't go after him. We'll live, trust me.
