Studs Garrett wilson - opened up with a big 54 yard play and finished with 6 for 115 yards conlkin - breakout game for him. 6 for 79 and 2 TDs. was tough to bring down mims - made the most of his opportunity 2 catches for 76 yards. 1 was a tough over the middle where he broke a few tackles for YAC Carter II - had an INT and 7 tackles and good coverage and got robbed of an 84 yard pick 6 by an off ball penalty d-line (minus JFM) 6 sacks by 6 different players. constant pressure and held the run game in check Duds Wilson - had his 1st 300 yard game but didn't look good until the final drive. The o-line situation isn't helping either but he has to learn to step up and keep eyes downfield and process the game faster and use his legs at time. his 3 INTs were the difference in the game o-line - no holes in the run game and bad pass protection. probably going to be a season long issue. coaching staff - really let the team deflate after the RTP that negated our pick 6 JFM - for the late hit. mind you it was ticky tack and often not called but still no reason for it. we were being chippy all game but that one was costly as fuck moore - only 10 snaps. apparently he refused to block on a play so didn't see a lot of snaps. don't know what his deal is the refs - ticky tack penalty on JFM negated a huge play. phantom RTP on mosley was a BS call. still not convinced the DB was in bounds on that 1 INT. broadcast - for showing our onside kick play on national TV
I think our linebackers and secondary deserve some credit as well. On special teams I would give our punter props while our kicker let us down. MVP for the game was probably Nick Folk/
I'm no Mims truther, but he's making a case to get more playing time and not a good look for LaFleur not getting him on the field even last year
To be honest Mims had issues last year he had the food poisoning bout and struggled with the new offensive scheme. The current staff probably stuck with him as long as they did because they recognized talent under all of that. What we’re seeing now may be the result of a reset. I’m really hoping that’s the case because yesterday’s version of Mims gives the Jets another solid go to guy….. They need to figure out Zach now ….
Duds Zuerlein - Missed a 45-yard field goal Mann - Had at least two horrible punts. One that went out of bounds around the 40 and a strange squib kick that landed at the Patriots 38.
Joyner & Whitehead had some shitty moments. Joyner totally blew his coverage on the 4th & 1 touchdown at 12:10 in the 3rd qtr. Whitehead whiffed hard on tackling Stevenson at the line of scrimmage leading to a 35 yard run. Joyner also botched his tackle on the same play... pitiful.
IIRC they had a really good one on the 4th and 1 they stopped. played it perfectly. IIRC joyner came up and stopped jones form running and whitehead faded back to prevent the easy completion and jones overthrew it trying to get it over whitehead in good coverage
Special teams was a dud. Mann with a classic once a game shank I bc the first quarter and Zuerlein missing a kick that would have tied it at 13-13. coverage units were garbage also. I still don’t understand why they Squibb kicked to start the second half instead of kicking it deep to have them start at the 25 like how they did the entire game otherwise. Not kicking deep lead the pats starting at the 38 and scoring a go ahead TD
MLF should be a dud because he thought he could outsmart BB, ran is only 12 times, and went empty backfield again on a 3rd and short
Giving our punter props?? He had a 25 yard punt yesterday! The Patriots were starting on their side of the field repeatedly. The defense was heroic but the FGs piled up. Pin them deep and it's a different ball game. Patriots were avg starting on their own 43! They would pick up one first down and get three points. Behind Wilson I think Mann was most responsible for this loss (on the field)
Punter was a dud, shank punt, I don't know what he was thinking on the 2nd half opening kick off that gave the pats the ball near the 40. I don't think it was a designed squib kick.
Joyner especially. Mosley was yelling at him to follow the motion man on that 4th & 1 you are referencing. It was his guy that scored the TD practically untouched. This is Joyner's 9th year in the NFL & the f--king guy doesn't know which man is his? Football 101 ====== the helmet goes on your head. Football 101.1 ==== when playing defense, - you have to cover someone during a pass.
I believe it's this one Turnover on Downs (2nd quarter) (2:00) (Shotgun) M.Jones pass incomplete short left to J.Meyers. 4th & 1 at NYJ 21
