I decided I would begin this post with a more positive outlook on a negative day. This is a position that no one expected the Jets to be in. They played tough for a while but this team just lacks the talent to compete with the best teams in the AFC.

This was Year 1 of the rebuilding stage and the Jets surpassed everyone's opinion of the future of this team. This team was never expected or built for a deep playoff run. I am for one PROUD! of the Jets run so far this season.

Heres to the future of this team. Heres to...

    Mangini
    Schott Jr.
    Pennington
    Cotchery
    Coles
    Leon
    Baker
    Brick
    Mangold
    Rhodes
    Miller
    Dyson
    Vilma
    Barton
    Hobson
    Thomas
    Ellis
    Robertson
    Nugent
    Big Ben

Thank you all for a great season that was not expected. Now its time for this franchise to build for success.

    HERES TO THE FUTURE BOYS.

This core is solid, I like it. Playoffs are a learning curve, not many teams are able to go in and win the first one without adding some key pieces. Its not our time yet, but with this staff and core, I seriously think that the sky is the limit. Just a few more pieces...

I'm already looking forward to the off-season. We need to keep everyone around. Maybe add Asante Samuel.

I think Asante may be asking for alot if he leaves the pats. This off season should be interesting

I'd love to get Samuel, Dyson is a great #2 but isn't really a #1 corner, Dyson is. Hopefully the Pats don't resign him, if he don't we have Mangini who has a good relationship with him and lots of cap room.

Add Nuge & Graham to the list too, they've also both had great years.

Marc Bulger is a free agent. I think he would be a great fit with Coles/Cotchery/Baker. I dont think Penny is our long term answer.

I say sign Samuel, draft Michael Bush, and use 2nd round picks for Defense (DE and DT)

    2007 Draft

What are we looking for in this years draft?

    1. Running Back - Kenny Irons/Auburn is a solid back. He runs inside the tackles very well and has the speed to break some runs. He is incredibly tough.

    2. DT that can dominate the middle of the line.

    3. DE with speed around the end.

    Any thoughts?

The future is bright with 28 million under the cap, good season, yet a very, very great disappointment in the end.

There are so many ways we could go in terms of free agency and the draft. Not everyone on this board is going to be happy with the results. So let's try to be patient, and hope Tangini gets the players they want.

If this season shows anything, it definately showed us that Tangini has a clue. But I have been saying it all year. This is a rebuilding process and it will take a minimum of 3 years!!. Your not suppossed to make the playoffs in Year 1. We did thats a great acomplishment. Next year we could make a push but 2008 is the perfect year for this team and the core players. 2008-2011 should be our best years with this group and our future draft picks.

    Patience young ones. Patience.

Mangini needs to work with Jmiller and develop him.
