Signing Rob Ryan should be our off season priority.

He can build the defense over the next few seasons and then it will be up to Mangini to develop his eventual replacement when he gets a head coaching job after we win a Super Bowl.

We tried to get Ryan for this year to be our DC but he chose to stay in Oakland. I don't see why he'd leave now after building a top defense there this season.

Sutton has been great this year, just because the D didn't play well today is no reason to fire him. Rhodes, Thomas, Hobson, and Robertson all showed a lot of improvement working under Sutton.

have you seen how well our D came together over the last half of the season? Why fix something that isn't close to broke?

There are missing pieces, which can be addressed, but why in god's name do you want to start over?

    Doesn't make any sense...

I thought Sutton was fine. Give him some help w/ the personnell (ie better suited for the 3-4) and we will be fine

the Jets played some of the worst offenses in the NFL over the last 6 weeks of the season, and most of them, except Houston were still able to run roughshod over the Jets. they're definitely missing some pieces on D but with the poor gameplan Sutton had coming into today's game I'd have serious doubts about his future with the Jets.

all pregame all you heard was the Pats talking about how the blitz took them by suprise last game and how they would be ready for it this time. what do the Jets do? the same thing they did last game and suprise suprise the Pats are ready for it, and proceed to pick them apart on every 3rd and long.

He'll get HC offers and if he doesn't take those he'll have his choice of several DC jobs.

Yeah, nothing is official and who knows what the hell Old Al is going to decide, but Ryan would be the logical choice for Oakland's new HC

Already with the "fire Sutton" threads? God damn its been one season and he didn't even do that bad.

If Ryan becomes available I think you have to inquire, especially if he leaves due to Oakland hiring someone else to be their HC. I think Sutton has done a fine job and even today the defense didn't play incredibly poorly but you don't not go after one of the brightest defensive coaches in the game because of the holdover linebackers coach.

Sutton has done a tremendous job this season. They got better as the season went on, switching to a 3-4. Suggesting the should hire Ryan, is insulting to Sutton.

We can't make a change in DC after only one season. Mangini would never do something like that.

If Al Davis has a brain in his skull, he'll promote Rob Ryan to HC.

If Rob Ryan ever left Oakland for the Jets, Jeaux's world would absolutely implode.

There's just no chance of it, I'm afraid.
