I remember a time when the Jets couldn't close out a team. Now we're becoming masters of the 4th qtr.

This team is far more dangerous in the 4th qtr than any other time during the game! Not sure if the rotations are keeping our guys fresher or the other team becomes complacent thinking the Jets will simply roll over and play dead.

Seems MLF goes to another level in his playcalling too. More mid range strikes and surprise runs instead of the usual gut runs on 1st down. Ulbrick also seems to get far more aggressive in the 4th as well.

The entire team raises its level of play and as a result, we have learned how to close a game out.

Perhaps we are doing more cardio and other teams are getting tired out in Q4.

Youth could also be a factor.

I think all of this is valid. But I won't go so far - yet - to say the Jets "own" the 4th quarter. Against better teams, and as the league finally realizes they can't let up on them, they're going to still struggle. But even at that, I do think the days of the SOJ 4th quarter collapse are coming to an end. That's really one of the things I've been hoping for for a long time: seeing them be able to fight to the end with a chance to win every game. They may not be quite there, but they're close and getting closer.

    its an anomaly imho

its a very enjoyable anomaly for the time being

i think its pretty rare where turnovers turn into TDs so quick late in the game
    OSK v Browns
    INT vs Pitts
Strip sack and fumble and turnover on downs vs Phins

lets do it more in the 1st 3 quarters please!

The NFL is weird and these things seem to follow teams around for a season. I think we will continue to make plays in the 4th if for nothing else this team believes it and soon other teams start believing it.

if this continues for a WHOLE SEASOn we are in a very very special season

being in position to win late in every game is the more modest goal i see as attainable for this team this year

I like to think we can be the 1997 Jets. Very close but obviously on the right track.

All signs of a winning franchise. They just have to keep it up all year. I have no doubt that the time will come where Zach will own the last 2 minutes of a game. Zach & the offense has shown a lot of poise in the 4th quarter this year. The team is learning how to close out games....good sign.

It’s amazing what a balanced attack that isn’t centered around Elijah McGuire and Isaiah Crowell can do.

The big change is the fact that we have a balanced attack that centers around an effective running game. That usually keeps games much closer than it should be (Raiders/Chiefs last night is a good example). Keeps your defense off the field and limits possessions for the other team.

Believe it or not, after a while, when players on a team come to expect it and are confident about it. It happens. These boys are just starting to get the winning feeling and will carry through for the season.

This is so awesome. I can't even remember the last time a Jets team played this way. Normally, the 4th Qtr has been what killed them. They've usually been behind, but even on the few occasions that they were ahead, they often found a way to lose. IMO this is a sign of a great team in the making.

Exactly! Ironically, that's something with which most young teams struggle. They find ways to lose, and are overcome by their own mistakes. If the Jets can keep that up with such a young team, think about how tough they will be as they all get more experience. IMO this team has a VERY bright future.
