I'm talking today, tomorrow, or early Monday. Kitna, Ramsey (trade, yes), McGinest, Ashworth, Kimo Von O.?

I dont like these players, but IMO I think Mangini is just looking for stopgaps in FA, and then looking to build through the draft. Like Oelhoffen (3-4 DE), Ted Washington (3-4 NT), and Willie McGinest (3-4 rush backer) ...players past their prime, that we would sign to short deals, but that could play a role for us and enable a quick switch to Mangini's 3-4, while we look for long term replacements in the draft. I Guess some old fogies are good?

    So, is that the plan?

Instead of signing some FA's who would be useful in 3 years (when we will contend), Tangini is looking for some mentors who will fill in until our COMPLETELY new regime will be ready.

I am not against this...while dumbway did not believe in rebuilding, I DO!
I'm not sure how this is done, but instead of signing some high-priced FA's, we sign some middle-of-the road vets, who can mentor the newbies to be the best they can be, we build the neucleus of a perennial contender...I'm cool with that.

Yeah, I like the sound of that..."perennial contender"...I'm willing to wait a few years for that...whatever it takes...just remember...that means suck for a year or two.

    I'm cool with that.

I hope we sign someone tommorow before all our targets like Ashworth, Mcginest, Washington all get signed.

Washington is still under contract isnt he? The only way we could acquire him is thru a trade if thats the case. What I think were gonna do this offseason, is get vets for the 3-4 thru FA, then adddress offense day 1 in the draft, and defense day 2. That way we energize the offense, and expedite the switch to a 3-4
